    It´s gonna end up with a Gigabyte-Board and an I7, i think.
Go to osx86.net , it´s a fantastic site, they will help You.
I work with Asus and I7, my machine is incredible. It takes some time, but it´s worth.
    Good Luck

The only thing that matters is the bootloader. The bootloader should work with your setup and when installing you should read carefully what to use according to your setup. When you install the wrong drivers you have to start all over again. TIP: Do not install to much drivers. If you do that you have to find the driver settings for all your components. First I installed with minimal settings to see what I should need. It installed almost everything with minimal settings except the keyboard so I went look for that drivers. After that I found out my network doesn't work but I solved it with tethering via my phone. That's it! It's better to install to install with minimal settings instead of install all drivers and you end up figuring out which settings cause the failure.

I'm still having vivid fantasies of a stealthy black cube design.
Topre keyboard. Everything matte black. like something out of
    an early William Gibson novel.

I think building Hackintoshes for high-end use makes the most sense. You can save a lot
of money there. Skitzovisions post reminded me of this video:
