Stupidest MF Idea ive ever heard of. Right up there with auto-mastering. There are too many people with disposable income.

As good as that sounds I prefer offline products where the end user has more control of the software he/she is using.

I think this is a tremendously good idea which can be extremely successful if executed correctly.

The main problem, in my opinion, is that people need to use your platform.

In my opinion, it would be a million times better if you managed to code a VST link system, something that people could load like regular vst plugins, so people could use your service in their own DAWs.

Anyway, people pay a lot to own or even rent hardware emulations, so I'm sure people would pay at least the same amount of money to use the real deal remotely, as long as it works flawlessly and doesn't divert them from their own workflow.

    Good luck!

That's sad... What's your point, why do you consider it not good?

We're glad you like it and we would in fact like to integrate this into DAWs, as this wouldn't break the workflow. :mates: Personally, I too don't want to leave the comfortable Pro Tools environment.

Though we don't currently have the manpower to do it full-time, an alpha version of the VST system is being developed bit by bit.

The goal is to have a working alpha by the end of February 2019 and then maybe do a closed beta in fall 2019.

Until then, we'll need all the support we can get. :like:

Here's a demo of our digitally controllable mastering EQ:

I can imagine it, but what please explain or give an example of what addition control do you get having a software?

Maybe we can get an idea on how to include it into mix:analog, who knows?

    -----------------------------------------------------

By the way........Telefunken M15 is online!

We'll also be arming it with a fresh tape this week. ;)

Poor thing deserves some love after the disaster we put it through!

    @mix:analog

lots of things look elegant in the abstract... and this is well beyond abstract..
but it also appears far different still to a fully baked product for the market...
do you have any links to reviews/testimonials that aren't de facto shills for your start up service ?

real paying customers who are not receiving "benefits" for trying/using your service,
and being a stealth proponent in return...

care to elaborate ? don't see anything more on FAKEBOOK about it..

You missed it. We're on it :bleh: The new system is not live yet, the 2nd picture is from our staging server. Bojan will probably push it to live by the end of the week and I'll be posting a video where I show you our office and server room on Thursday.

We do have genuine testimonials. Here are a few from user feedbacks:

    Michael Reis:
I processed a couple mixes doing a quick “mastering” on them using the pultec so pull out a bit of the lows, compressing just a bit with the Fairchild and then adding a bit of air with the other eq. I compared this with my uad plugins of similar models and definitely preferred the results I got with your service; more depth, weight, and stereo separation.

    Jason Dilly:
I used this basically to test the coloring and also mastering. Sounded very smooth and rich. Enjoyed it a lot. Overall I'm impressed and can't wait for it to start up and also for more hardware to come in.

    Will Hensel:
Your service has been an important final part of our process. The project is not finished yet but I'll be sure to keep you informed soon. So far the Artist thinks it sounds "amazing".

    Terje Bakke:
Your concept is another confirmation for me that there is bright days ahead working ITB. I tried the service and it went smoothly and was great fun. It feels unreal to process my track through real gear like this and i feel we are just now scraping the surface of what might be a big demand in the near future.

    James Brailsford:
I loved the experience. Switching the AD converter on and off to compare between my original file and then turning it on and hearing it after going through the hardware was spectacular. I have never used that hardware before and although I do have software modelled versions of the Pultec and Puigchild they don't even come close to comparison. So much richness and a wider stereo image were clearly evident, yet didn't feel like they were added with a stereo widener or some form of bass boost plugin! It felt like my track went from being sterile and thin, to something alive and big sounding.

We just plugged a new piece of gear into the system. This time it's a brickwall limiter!

The Distopik Precision Series Brickwall Limiter is one of the fastest analog limiters in the world.

Inspired by one of the Tony Maserati's favourite limiters, it retains dynamic information at the tops of the peaks, uses no time-delay or phase-shift-delay tricks and keeps the distortion for all levels below the limiting threshold as low as possible. :guru:

It features a JFET and a MOSFET mode:
    • the MOSFET is a stiff/hard limiting mode
    • the JFET is a silky/soft mode
Both modes are capable of brickwall limiting and have their own characteristic sounds. :like:

You can read more about our digitally controllable brickwall limiter at https://mixanalog.com/gear/distopik-ps-bwl.html.
