I have read all of the threads here and none really apply. I have tried to install Omnisphere 2 R2R and all that happens is that I get the vst and component installed. No app for Omnisphere and it doesn't show anywhere else on my computer. I understand I can create and transfer the Steam folders, but there doesn't seem to be any way to access them. Plus it doesn't show in Logic Pro X. I have had the same issue with Superior Drummer and wonder if it is High Sierra???
Any thoughts would be appreciated.

where do you transfer the steam folders ? and how do you delete Omnisphere from your Mac ?

 

I never did the Steam Folders. The data install pkg goes through its routine in 1 second, so I am assuming it isn't loading anything. I be happy to do the Steam, like I have read, except there isn't any indication that Omnisphere is actually installed with the installer pkg with the exception of a component and vst, which Logic Pro doesn't even see, making me think a file wasn't installed.
As for deleting, just by hand, I don't believe I have an uninstaller.

 

You have to mannually merge the steam folder of all images

Where,d you placed the steam folder?

I have put mine in /Library/Application Support/Spectrasonics and created a symlink in

~/Library/Application Support/Spectrasonics

That way I can use it with multiple System Users with out duplicating the steam folder

 

I had another duh moment. I read elsewhere about rebooting after install and sure enough Logic Pro now sees Spectrasonic as an AU. Now onto the steam folders...let's see if that is easy.

how do you merge , because as you know there are 8 folders and whenever you're trying to merge it says " replace " and not " merge "

 

Just drag the steam folder in the location of the steam folder(destination) and it will give you the option to merge (macos)

 

alright , nothing hurts a trial but a failure.

 

btw what version of Omnisphere 2 did you install and did you patch the vst and component first?

 

as far as i remember i first installed version the initial version of Omnisphere 2, and then the update, after that I patched it, and then i merged the folders.
