This picture steal is not a good sign.
But to be honest I did not think the pictures are real. They look like illustrations for advertising the hardware.
They claim this is a picture of the chain that works at the moment...I am still skeptical...

At least its seems to be real hardware

Yes it does. Tell me how you can stream two different tracks on the SAME chain at the SAME time ?
    Multiplex ?
If it was so simple ... ppl would buy only ONE channel strip

Read into it, but they say you book 15 minute sessions and can get further 15 minute extensions if need be and its only one session at a time. So client A and B both go on at same time whoever finishes booking first gets to use it and then after that 15 minutes then the next client gets 15 minutes and so forth. Appears they make all their clones, gonna look into this further. Will never use it but interesting concept.

I do get what you are saying ( and you are correct) but what I was referring to was the fact that regardless of how many sessions they book at same time there was the lingering question of whether it was original analog gear or clones. With someone making the type of claims he made even with 2 sessions going on at same time he was bound to tell us that he had 2 or 3 or 4 setups. Anyhow, that question has been answered by the changes they made in their website. It is all clone gear. That is what interested me because what he claimed hurts "real" recording studios. He was offering the same gear for a % of what anyone has to charge to make it profitable. With the availability of digital gear, major studios depend on the "vintage and rare" gear to attract clients.

    @TonyG

Yes, i understand. Clone is less attractive.
But on the other side, it would be very difficult to get multiple chains using only original rare gear
They could sell their service at higher price, but with less clients.

you sound very emotional, have you ever thought about modifing original piece of hardware?

I can make something like that with technic lego and a 3d printer within a week.
Take the original pots of, and print a mold to put directly on the screw of te knob.
there are plenty of arduino scripts that can take care of the programming.

I think the only thing that counts is, with the exception from providing customers with false informations, does it sound better than the equipment, be it hard- or software, that the customer has.

Emotional? Yeah, freaking pissed off and with a good reason for it. To answer your question: I have not. First, I do not have the knowledge for it. And secondly, even if I knew how to do such a thing I would not modified any rare and hard to find hardware. Finally, this is not about me being able to modify an original piece of hardware. This is about someone who claimed to have modified an original piece of hardware and it was totally false.

:bleh: They made a 31 minutes Youtube live stream from their server/hardware room, 1 hour ago :bleh:
    "mix:analog Live from server room"

This enterprise seems to be a quite not bad idea, that would has come one day or another ; they are the first known to try this (before to be bought by some giant corporation with giant rooms in China ?...).
The question would be "Could this be sustainable, pricewise ?"
Right now, we don't know any (future) price ; when the prices will be known then it could be compared with currently known solutions.

The fact that they use electronic clones of legendary hardwares (with suitable electronic specifications, so the clones are very close to the originals ; we can remember that 2 originals exact same references doesn't everytime sound exactly the same but are soundwise really close) seems to be of minor importance, as far as the audio processing is concerned. Globally the "mix:analog" concept seems to not be a scam.

Their success or their failure will depend on prices, convenience, marketing, and scale (what is the possible and necessary scale, within the existing market ?). It will be interesting to follow this enterprise.

By the way, they currently didn't tell yet what DA-AD converters are used.

    just some over hyped shit,
analog not meaning good quality or best,
even those high priced well known gears yours listed above used very low quality unit inside the gear,
all digital plugins(except some synth) sounding worse because those plugin cannot filtering unwanted audio waves like noises and doesnt have good power supply but analog(hardware, not digital emulations) gears can do.
i have a method you could try that its very simple: buy a good recorder to record every contents from digital, multi track hardware or just a portable recorder like tascam dr-100 mkiii can give you analog feel, multi track recorder is best choice it has power supply, i found a headphone amp have better result, maybe because i had wasted more money in hi-fi systems?
