Yeah, that's feasible, of course … just a matter of the correct settings. I am always happy to help users with their specific needs ... once they provide me with their order credentials (24/7 live-chat available on www.autotonic.net or simply drop me a message here: <[email protected]>).
= I am there for everyone who supports my work too. Yours, the developer of this software that you want to start off with :)

I think you prolly have to route Autotonic back to ur DAW. There's routing info on their site (for OSX too). But it's likely that it's RTPmidi / network that's causing issues? I know I had a hell of a time setting it up when I used wired keys. I needed to use some other midi thing to get TouchOSC / Lemur to work, maybe worth checking the TouchOSC site?

As far as @AutoTonic (software) goes, the appalling, tiny (unscalable) interface makes it bare usable. It is difficult (impossible?) to configure w/ bluetooth keyboards and reroute to DAW. RTPmidi et al won't allow it. It is also fiddly af to use. It has a good database, tho, and is almost worth using for that. I know that's the most valuable bit about it, compared to (ie) Lucytuning disorder hell! :D

Oh yeah in general, tis a confusing mess, the way the inputs are keys, outputs are just meaningless (major3 et al). Having no option to switch the output to (ie) notes or scale degrees. Plus it's (output) presented on a pseudo keyboard, which is confusing to us musicians w/ small brains. Also the most important bit of the interace (<<< arrow) is bare visible! Also, the way it "spreads" the outputs is infuriatingly dense. As far as possible it should be C->C etc. Autotonic should only "spread" if there are 9 note modes. There should be an option to "collapse" / "spread". It is a good idea, tho, especially if you want to have (ie) keyswitches on black keys, and play on white ones for example.

This is, I admit, from someone who never has RTFM. So hopefully all those issues are just my ignorance. But I couldn't find any remedies from (literally) peering at the interface w/ magnifying glass!

You could try loopmidi to send it from rtpmidi to reaper. It’s free

AutoTonic is compatible with ANY (!) other existing MIDI-gear, no matter what DAW, virtual instrument, external hardware, data transfer method (cable, virtual, Bluetooth etc,) ... as said: just a matter of the correct settings. Also due to the standalone format it is much more powerful than having it as a MIDI FX Plugin format as well.

The size of the ui (and the look of the ui in general) may be -of course, as always- a matter of taste, even though there are plugin ui's out there which are even smaller, but from my experience I'd say it works just fine for 99% of the actual users out there, and there is overall a really great feedback from long-term users and also the pro users (even a multiple time Oscar-nominated film composer said to me "He loves AutoTonic")!

I am not sure if it can be explained in a short comment here on this kind of forum to people who're willing to argue with themselves back and forth already -- but no matter what AutoTonic has brought new to this world (true MODAL transposing, this patented reinterpretation method of the keyboard, etc,) or what else it is capable of (freely assignable interval stackings, advanced routing and triggering workflows, manageable scales database, etc,) ... those who will overcome a certain amount of 'laziness' and will look deeper into the materia and what this is all about, will most likely find AutoTonic rewarding.

Does it nao? Having a static, non-scalable squinterface is not a simple "matter of taste" for those w/ sight problems. Using cramped pixel fonts and unicolour ditto.

Isn't it ur job as dev to make the product as easy to use as possible tho?

Powerful? In what way? Does it drain moar of ur power supply? :P It is certainly less convenient.

"famousS is missing something regarding AutoTonic. It will get in the way of nothing. It interfaces with a midi keyboard controller, "tuning" your keys... I use it with Reaper & Reason & GigPerformer 3 no problemo. I feed to EZ keys which has a note/chord display onscreen. Whether I use EZKeys as my source or not, it is "always on" to give me the note/chord info in real time, especially useful with AutoTonic engaged. Get a bigger screen and increase your resolution if you are visually challenged. That's on the user, not AutoTonic.
