I don't cry for Ableton if some users use their Live illegally,you sell it 600$(!!!) for 10 times less features than Cubase,Studio One,Reaper(90$),etc.. so 600$ for 10 times less work.

Ableton doesn't target poor musicians like me. We stay with Reaper or Mixbus32c 5 and then when we have enough money, we will buy it or never. loll

Fully agree. Instead of taking him/her serious and help one who's possibly new to (and at least new to AS) making music with PC, most reactions are snooty and others use the thread again for those lame "mine-is-the-better-DAW-shit".
No one (I hope) would behave like that in real life.

Taking him serious help?Buy it or don't complain,so simple.I don't talk about Firewall,it is so basic to enable/configure it if you use warez softwares.
I was talking about the price and features of Live because if its price was legitimate they would have probably less illegal users.This is my logic.
This was not to say that one DAW is better than the other.

- defines what an amateur DAW is
- knows everything to tell the fair price of a DAW

I'm very interested in your qualification and your insights.
Especially please provide us with facts about those 10 times (!!!) more features all those DAWs have.
I mean 10 times is a bold claim and a number we can work with. Prove it for every single DAW you mentioned or withdraw!

ableton is hybrid..clip's and arrangement
..its the hardware seq....
its THE writing DAW
for mixing master many go to s4 or cubase but also many do it in live ...
what nerves is no gain knob on every channel like in s4 or so

signal flow is pretty

you can compare cubase and s4 but compare live with s4 or cubase is not so effective
just imho

I'm not a programmer but I've tried almost every DAW since 18 years.I think I know their differences and bad points.I work every day on them.
I won't waste my time telling you what I think and why.Buy it 600€ and be happy like that.
In my country we name that "se faire arnaquer"(to be courteous)

And this 10 times thingy is so easy to falsify: If Ableton contains e.g. 500 usable functions, then every DAW you mentioned must have 5.000 (!!!)

vst3,Shortcuts(incredible how slow Live's workflow is),Melodyne,mixer without any access to your plugs unless you modify some shit,instrument and Fx plugins in the same folder,VCA faders,not multi screens,Chordtrack,floating windows, etc..
Cool if you make a 10 tracks song,after that...Good luck with 60 tracks

Happily it doesn't have 500 functions and the others 5000.

You are dishonest if you think Ableton is not too expensive compared to others DAWs on the market.

On the plus side, Live makes douchy DJs look up to 500 times more douchy when they hop around onstage with that goddamn Push 2 controller. A request for Live 11: built-in Super Mario flag-lowering chipsound every time the DJ gets all the right squares in the right order.

Ableton is far away from an amateur daw, its quite the opposite

besides vst3, which again totally makes sense that Ableton`s probably never gonna support it.

Ableton has the most features, why ? you can make your own daw in every regard, but thats not amateur stuff.
no other daw gives you that.

The most powerful feature of Ableton is its GUI, that makes it the fastest, there is just no other 0 delay daw out there.

Ableton hosts big projects on a regular basis, thats just the nature of this daw, 1000 tracks and more is nothing strange for a band
people host entire gigs not just songs in there, 10 minute and more loading time on an actual machines is common for band/live-act projects.

for an amateur daw just get an iPad with garage band.

how some people here talk about Ableton is just childish and offensive, I'm out
