This came out in April but AKAI is now really pushing the option to upgrade for a discounted price. Wondering if this will finally push Native Instruments to create their own dedicated DAW

Demo and upgrade can be found here: http://www.akaipro.com/products/software/mpc-software

Im seriously considering buying this as it is only $135 when you own an Akai keyboard with coupon code MPCSAVE10. I would love to see V.R. crack the newest version but if I do buy it I will supply it to see if it can be cracked.

I'm tempted to buy it as well. Just downloaded the demo to test things out... have you used it before?

any impressions so far? I have some akai stuff as well... so it's an interesting proposition to try out a new DAW

I use it all the time as my second daw. I own a couple different mpcs and grew up on mpc style workflow. I use it mainly for beat driven compositions or for sampling vinyl. It could be a full fledge DAW but I use Studio One as my main DAW so I have never gone far into it. but it gives me the classic MPC vibe in my computer. Very easy to use and very quick to get right into composing.

Also use it as a "secondary" daw to make loop oriented beats... Get things rolling nice and quick.
It does support vst fxs and vsties. I think hybrid is included, at least it was for me with other stuffs...

It takes most vst, I run kontakt and Omni in it; the newest update won’t allow for 32 bit prog. Any more tho!

i wouldnt say that mpc 2 is now a full daw (no sidechain no midi routin only 4 inserts)
but for fast idea bounce its extreme niice :D (and i owned NI and AKAI products)
i like the mpc more couse the workflow is niicer
i own only the studio black edition but 98% of the time i only work on the controller not even looking into the pc screen (but i came also from the oldshool hardware mpc versions)
allready thinkin to buy the MPC Live (6hrs battery, build beats and bounce ideas everywhere)
and the 2.0 software is really biig after 2.3 there are many good looking features to build beats fast and bounce ideas fast
but in the end im completing beats allways in PT or Ableton live.
i dont think that mpc software needs to be a full daw (too many functions too many distraction for the idea creation)
but midi routing and sidechaining would be niice
