Well I mean it's just music, "entertainement" music at that. People can be silly about every kind of matters, some far worst, and being silly in its listening habit probably isn't the worst sin, even if us musician tend to take it personaly.

On the other hand you put an idiotic ex-billionaire on reality tv for a decade after he failled in his business ventures, he ends up the president of the first economical and military power of the planet, half of the country scream madness, the other imagine a revolution is coming. The rest of the world, dazzled, watch, hypnotized by the gigantic mega production screening in front of them, while the theater they are waching it in is actually burning...
At the end of the day who isn't stupid ? We are all unreasonable humans, I just wish we could once in a while be reasonable on the big picture.
The best way to recover from bad music is still and will always be to listen to good music. Just avoid Foster productions, there are still plenty of great artists out there. Never were as many and it has never been easier to get access to their sound.

Let's not let any troll sells its sour soup. No one has to care about the small portion of music creation made every day call the "industry". The same way you don't have to go eat at Mc Donald or Subway and you can just go on the other side of the street in a local restaurant or a food truck.
