The rest of the world bust a gut trying to mimic what the Americans do and do it so terribly. Popularity of any style of vocal music in the US permeates very soon almost all nations around the globe. Those captive and infirm of purpose nations have no choice except welcoming those styles and spreading them over their own people.

 

Wtf are you talking about?
1) Singing is universal. Why are you putting it down?
2) It's not only the US who has commercialized vocal-driven pop music. It's global.

There is a quite simple anwser

Voice is the only instrument that we get borned with. There is nothing else more familiar to every single person on the planet.
Everyone would love to be able to sing , and 90% of people belive You have to be born with it .
They can't grasp the idea that it's a skill as much as anything else.
They realy want to belive it .

The fact is that we are borned totally able to learn quite quickly any musical skill before we get exposed to the repetition of 4 chords, most of the times preformed really badly on radio and TV.

2 days ago I've been queuing in a store ,and i overheard a conversation of 2 ladies.
"OMG she sings so beautifull , damn i wish i could sing. That is just something that You have to be born with , I'm so jealous."



How come all of the people in 3rd world can actually sing ?
It's just plain natural.



It's the same damn thing with our bodies
we get broken by the schemes of sitting in front of the desk in schools.

Good thing is that most of these processes can be reversed at almost any age.
We are a damn fuckin incredible specie.

 

I'm an old dude who refuses to listen to today's music, and even I've heard of K-Pop, J-Pop and C-Pop. Don't blame the U.S. for that shit -- those guys made it their own.

 

If you take "The Singing" out of the US's music industry, what would remain?

EASY

- The only true art form the USA has a claim to inventing.

The singing is important to better sell the music so listeners can connect on some level with the performer, but make no mistake-it's the music people feel the strongest connection to-not just the artist. Long after the artist is gone people still listen to good 'songs', because no one will buy an a Capella album. There are many instrumental acts that have little to no singing and still have huge fan-bases. I agree that the human voice is the most expressive mono instrument but with the invention of some vox processing tools in the last 2 decades, producers can make even dog-barking sound melodic and harmonious in a track. Singing will always be popular because its the first thing listeners (who don't have song-writing and producing inclinations) try to emulate when they hear a good song, whereas producers and/or engineers might listen to the arrangement as a whole analytically and artistically. Trying to sing like an artist is much easier than making , mixing and/or producing the music of that artist, and without the music, there would be no charts to measure popularity or indicate sales statistics.
