I have both but i cant decide which one to use, ive already tried a lo of daws and i always returned to Cubase, so i was wondering which versión would be the best to use between those two

if you mean x64 cubase 5 pro - that would be far better for midi and large projects - but the asio guard (cubase 7+) is far better for low latency and stability.

 

there is no bounce in place in Cubase Elements

For me, Elements takes away about 90% of the stuff that makes Cubendo worth using instead of any other DAW. Even w/ (quite a few) issues, C5 (full) is better, has moar features you'll prolly need. Also bugs. Elements does look prettier, tho.

If ur kinda starting from scratch / learning, I'd prolly advise using / getn to know Reaper. It will prolly save you tons of money in the long run, and will have much the same workflow. Eventually. Prolly. >____> although it looks ugly af. I kinda regret (a lil) "getting used to" (indoctrination =) of Cubendo. Well, when I look at my bank balance anyway! (Geez, tiny incremental upgrade price of Cubase is moar than total cost of Reaper, ffs... =)

 

Cubase Elements has no VariAudio. I would kill myself without it.

 

should i play on the bridge pickup or the neck pickup ?

 

Depends. Are ya using Evolution Strawberry etcs, or one of those Amplesound weird libs? >______>

 

I tried using Elements the other day as I was wanting to create larger orchestral templates than my 32-bit Cubase 5 could support and found it to be unusable. Even something simple like toggling your tracks between musical and linear is disabled. Not to mention you can't even batch export tracks! On top of all that it looks hideous with the dark color theme and Adobe-like collapsible panels, even if I had money to burn I don't think I would buy the pro version of version 9.

 

this versions are both not that great really.
if cubase is your thing, you have to buy it or live with the limitations.

have you tried reaper ?
