@superliquidsunshine So great! Absolutely, real ambience and real life reverb will beat any impulse response anytime, hands down.
There's just something about the shear size of things. Yeah, my friends a painter and a huge music lover and a bit of a tech head too so
very, very lucky indeed. Have fun! Cheers all!

...Because these ones are not "simple convolution reverbs". These ones are "alive reverbs", not with only simple lifeless sterile known impulses responses as with the other convolution reverbs (which are beautiful at first but sterile and annoying at last).

Also, talking about reverbs, but this one is not a plugin, and currently doesn't exist as a plugin :
    Quantec Yardstick ("secret weapon")
    ...Sound Clips
...This one I can't afford:rofl:, but hearing only the sound clips, it spills me ; a true "monster", unparalleled.

Aether really helps for serious engineering period but it kills cpu.

Hello. I am looking for a reverb with the quallity of the reverb of Spire. I am always amazed at the capabilities of the "Damp" and "Color" controls.

Damp is a common parameter on reverbs;it sets the reverb's length for high frequencies, most of time(with some reverbs you can set the time for low/mid/high frequencies).
Color is just an EQ for more lows or high frequencies, you also find this feature with every reverb.

What you guys think about latest Breeze v2.1?
2C Audio claims that it is one of the most cpu friendly reverb and sounds amazing. I haven't tried it. Not available on sister site.

Of course there is. The Relab one was hailed as a one to one recreation. And there's the Lexicon bundle and a bunch of other plugins that take "inspiration" from the 480.

But of course UAD fanboys will say it's dogcrap compared to the new one because of the fairy dust in the shitty old DSP cheaps.

My post was from 5 years ago. In the mean time Relab 480L, TC VSS3, Eventide [Blackhole is unique], and Lexicon PCM bundle got released. So I would add these to my post now.

But really, Valhalla ones: ValhallaRoom, Vintageverb, and now ValhallaPlate, are like workhorse reverbs you generally can't go wrong with. In my humble, old-school opinion and taste. :)

certainly a "live" reverb, not as lightweight as most daw stock plugins.

    my current list:
Breeze, Nimbus, Altiverb, Pro-r, B2, Aether.

With nimbus on No#.01 but it is a real cpu killer.

I usually use either RVerb, Valhalla Vintage Verb or Fruity Reverb 2.

Mainly because they are so easy to tweak. Even VV and Reverb 2 could do with a few less knobs IMO. RVerb has pretty unique (and good sounding) solution for early reflection tweaking, which I like a lot.

For 'effect' type reverb Blackhole by Eventide is pretty amazing since it is designed to be automated. And of course there is just something special about how it sounds. Definitely not suitable for every situation though.

2.Rematrix (fast, easy for me to jot down space ideas to replace after)
3.MannyM Reverb ( used to be goto for vox as i had presets of the early coke boys & bricksquad from studios)
4.Lexi Hall ( used to be goto till i wanted more control )

BX rooms, because it does everything I need, every single time without any fuss, few knob turns and it's done.

Still looking for a convolution though.

Recently bought Uvi Plate. Couldn’t be happier even though it’s ‘only’ plate reverb
