I just have to agree with the other guys @Luka. This was deeply emotional. May other people honor friendship the way you do mate.
And of course @TonyG , i am really glad you are back man. That must have been a pure hell of a rollercoaster ride for you and your loved ones.
I know some peeps will think otherwise but the prayers and positive energy must have done their job. But most of all, modern science and a loving family along with your strong urge to stay in the land of the living did their own thing i suppose.
I wish you a speedy recovery and a most healthy comeback to your everyday life. While platinum records and Neves don't really impress me, a person's lifetime achievement and dedication to their craft does and i am happy a person of your status has gone the extra mile to help with a professional insight so many members here.
Such a giving person deserves the best. See you around soon i guess hehehe.

Hey @Luka thank you very much that you did all this in behalf of ours. We appreciate this and love to hear he's getting better and better every day as it seems.
Thanks to the information you gave us about @TonyG and his recovery (and his great familiy of course) we were able to follow what was going on with him. I never mind, I would feel that much empathy for someone I never met in person.

Only said so, because for a very long period in my life, i 've been out there and occasionally i 've worked with a few peeps that had a bucketful of platinum and gold records, great consoles, glamorous studios, etc etc. Between the most successful peeps i 've worked with, there were the most humble and kind persons and the most arrogant, self absorbed ones (luckily not many) i ever met...
Therefore, accolades in art or science, sports, craftmanship etc., while they consist of a way to measure a person's achievements, they say very little about who they really are as human beings. I am really happy that our own TonyG is a grand example of generosity and while being a celeb he's humbly kept a low profile. I 've read his threads and professional advise given by him freely that some others in the industry would ask you to reach for your wallet in order to get a serious answer.
That is why people's character will always impress me more than any material substance mate.

@taskforce I agree with what you said but I certainly was impressed. It was a first for me In front of one of those consoles. Just being able to sit in front of it, touch it and listen to its surgical sonic alterations was pure ecstasy. Your reasoning nevertheless is right on point. @TonyG is indeed a " great example of gerenosity" and humbleness. Always willing to help others humbly. Even when someone disagreed with whatever he wrote he never took the high road and used his achievements as leverage to make a point or to impress others. That in itself speaks highly of him. As @No Avenger wisely noted "you cannot buy character".

 

Well I'll just call it miraculous, really great news.. life is a precious and rare thing we have for just a little while,
so it's always a relief and a joy when someone you admire is able to come back from that brink...

Here is a man who clearly has a wealth of talent and intelligence, and the world will not be at a loss
to avail itself of the gifts yet to come from his creativity...

and of course a special shout out to you @Luka, I have no doubt but that the positive vibes, wishes, prayers
that you brought to the score have resulted in a day where we can say the music and the magic lived on !

just got home from work, and i was thinking "i wonder how tonyg is doing?" thanks so much for the update, luka. and praise be to whatever god you pray, tonyg. glad to hear that you are the mend.

 

Absolutely understood and agreed. The first time i sat in front of a Neve VR and started messing with the EQ left me a constant smile like the Joker from Batman lol. My girlfriend at the time thought i was high on amphetamines . It can be a jaw dropping experience for those who love music and audio manipulation, to my ears the Neve is the most musical console.

@TonyG is out of the hospital.

I have been informed by his mom that @TonyG is out of the hospital and soon would be allowed (by his father who is his doctor) to resume some of his regular activities. That means that his return to this Forum is getting closer. We all need some of that free legal advice. His mother asked me on behalf of @TonyG and his family to again thank all of those who have prayed, wished him well and sent positive energy his way. She continues to read this thread to @TonyG on a daily basis.
Let us continue sending positive energy his way. We await your return my brother from another mother.

 

Yeah, great news! Sounds like he's getting better day by day. It's weird how much I feel connected to @TonyG even from knowing scant info about him tangentially! Hope his physical health improves enough to write / produce? That rly helped me; guess some (a lot?) of us use music as therapy and have overcome something pretty serious & stressful. It does make you stronger, eventually, speaking from personal experience. Nothing gets forged in an armchair, I guess...
