Well the most strong pop industries were/are British, Swedish and Korean... All those movements gave birth what ppl think it's the "American industry"... U can't judge European pop music by that sh**t called Eurovision...

Sweden is so Good at Pop Music.

But what about the other countries of the continent?

POP music is not all about writing Lyrics, singing and production. POP is a tributary of the modern culture.

Most Europeans can not speak and understand English well. One of the reasons for Sweden's success in POP realm is that they speak English well (more than 90 percent), the highest proficiency rate among European countries where English is not a native language.

For the Americans, it’s the lyrics first, production second and melody last. Sweden is quite cosmopolitan and welcoming to foreign cultures (like the US), lacking the kind of language purism countries such as France have become known for. The result is a mastery of the nuances and emotional subtleties of English among Swedish artists. They can write top lyrics like the Americans do and they Keep with the latest trends in POP.

I don't know it sounds to me like we deserve a gold star on this one.

Good on you for appreciating pop music, but i'd rather be proud about my country concerning completely different genres of music, to each his own.

True. I don't know the music industry of europe as a whole, but I'm sure there is much more than this in every single country.
ESC is just a cheap commercial event. Some of the best musicians would not even take part if they would be invited. It has always been more of a political event than a musical one.

 

Go suggest that to Daft Punk or J.M.Jarre, or maybe DJ Snake (latest French artist with international success).....Well it's true that those guys don't or didn't quite follow the trend...They rather make it.

I probably shouldn't feed the author of this thread for whom false baseless statements upseting people is way more important than factual healthy debates.

 

americans are a big JOKE for music .. rap.. pop.. dance.. techno.. "rock".. "alternative" no one likes them.. they only like each other and give "Grammys" to each other.. like if they were the best..

it is a shame that they don't make great music as they used to.. but yes.. some countries are not to good in "general"..
all of them have good musicians.. but the best ones are never on the tops.
for me everytime I hear something from usa just by listening to the feeling.. i KNOW it is "made in america" and 120% of the times is pure crap. commercial music.. sell sell.. I think they think that music it is 100% entertainment.. and like a bridge to get something.. money and fame.. anyway.. ..

I know the guitarist on the first band...saw him live during my trip in Albania last year, then I took a beer with him. It's a funny guy

 

Dividing people by race is to me distracting to the unity of the world as one. Ethnicity to me is more a factor in describing the traits of large groups of similar people, the Swedish contingent having many, perhaps the most pop hits these last 50 years or so. These two fellows from Italy and Sweeden have only wanting possession of the ball most in common, at least to me.

 

That kind of contest are all a great scams. i judge some like them in Brazil, not representative, artificial!
But, hey... Big Brother is a great way to know real people right?
