In the 16th century, rival Bedouin tribes wage a fierce war over the meager water resources in the Sahara desert. Lots of intrigue ensues... The 2 warring Sheikhs send across spies to the opposing camp to gather intelligence. One such spy is the beautiful Rubina who has against her better judgement, fallen in love with Prince Basheer of the enemy camp.

This is the music of those times.

Or maybe its just a cheap knockoff of a Lawrence of Arabia type of Soundtrack... :)

Warning - Master levels are pretty high... so adjust levels before starting track.

    Any and all feedback welcome!!!

@Spyfxmk2 ... my dear friend... how are you? I've been missing you and your lovely music these last few weeks. Thanks so much for the kind words! :)

@Skull ... thanks for the listen and the positive feedback... I am gonna try very hard not to insert"..." after every sentence... lolz...

@Recoil ... thank you bro... glad you enjoyed it!

And many thanks to @Herr Durr and @Cackwizard for the listens and the likes.

    Cheers!

  7. After listening to this fine piece I had a strange desire to eat dates and an insatiable thirst that three glasses of water barely touched. What kind of spell have you put on me?

What @superliquidsunshine said! =) The good stuff is lovely! I do hate the bass (sound) tho, maybe to do w/ clipping dunno. Would work better w/ acoustic bass maybe. Also some of those string stabs are a bit wonky ~44-59s maybe rethink / machine gun?

Love it :hifive:...the shifting sandy melody, the sultry strings, the hypnotizing rhythm of the hot Saharan beat.....an oasis of beautiful music !

    Now where's my camel ? :)

let's see.. why just drink water.. how about "Tea in the Sahara"

anyways.. when I heard the opening winds... , well just have a listen to "Funeral for a Friend" sometime..

curious tho.. did you use something like Mesa Winds for that.. or just some found sound?
Your track clearly was very successful in capturing a "dune-y" mood..

Being a Westerner I wouldn't know if you got it right or not but to my ears it sounds pretty good!
What software did you use to make this little ditty may I ask?

    I like it!
Your (written) introductions are so good that I'm almost positive of remembering by heart another of your tracks, talking about a commercial was it?
    Keep it up ))

@superliquidsunshine ... To satisfy your craving for dates, you must go on a date with a belly-dancer of the desert... :)... Thanks very much for the kind words... They mean a lot to me...

@famouslut ... Thank you... I agree about the bass... Its a synth bass patch... Should probably use a real instrument patch... I started this track as a synth led ditty but it evolved into this arabian thing... Forgot all about chaging the bass sound...

@Beth ... Thank you so much... You are very kind :)

@Herr Durr ... I love Funeral for a friend... Beautiful track... And I think there's no tea left in the Sahara seeing as how Sting and his exbuddies drank it all up...:)... The wind instrument is actually a layered combination of bowed instruments... Erhu and moin khuur from Ethno World 6 for Kontakt... Thank you very much for listening and glad you liked it...

@DieM ... Thank you... Im not from the Middle East either... But decided to go with this scale interspersed with an Indian scale in between proceedings... I made the song on Cubase 9.5 Pro using patches from Ethno World 6 and Damage Kontakt libs... And some Stylus Rmx for percussion... The bass patch is something from Arturia...

Thanks again to everybody for being so kind...:)

Haha... If only my producers felt that way... swayed by the written word... Unmoved by the music...

    Thank you @Xupito :)

You had many replies to attend to recently but still I ask! What software did you use to make this track?

Hey I nodded off earlier so didn't realize you had already replied. (Me and my middle age eh!)
Cheers for that Kinghtsurfer! I have always been interested in Indian music. It's nice to know where I can make a start!
