Hello all,

I'm no expert but, i'm not exactly a newbie either....

However I recently made the switch to Pro Tools 12.5 by AudioUTOPIA after purchasing a Windows 10 rig. I got threw the install without and major issues. However, even with SugarBytes VST to AAX I can not get 12 to load any waves plug-ins. I get "Waves license not found Skip or Rescan" when 12 attempts to scan for plug-ins during launch.

I've copied "Waves Shells" to every folder imaginable via program_files and program_files x86. But still no luck.

i'm starting to think its not even possible....

Someone please help me.

You need a patched/cracked 'Native' aax. It's in the notes.

Save any custom presets if needed , remove current version & perform a fresh install of the latest version (10).

 

So v10 is available cracked/patches??? If so where? Can you send me a link or post one???

Have a look on the sister site maybe...
But If I were you I wouldn't download what you wrote above.

 

Grab the latest v9 from R2R (you shud know how to find this).

*I wouldn't look at v10 yet, it's full of bugs and doesn't have any new plugins added since v9.

In the install notes provided, follow the info abt removing the version you already have installed... Basically to clear it off your system.

Install the R2R version... Follow the instructions carefully abt creating the license etc.

Done... It shud now work...

 

Do a search on sister site for latest V.R. version 10. This contains latest version with improvements & fixes.
Some newer plugins are only in V10.

The V.R. version contains the Waves installer which installs the AAX & VST3 files to the correct locations. Just run the V.R. Patch program after Waves installer finishes. That's it...

Remember to uninstall the version you have now along with anything you modified using the Sugarbytes wrapper.

Do your homework, v10 is currently extremely buggy and is causing issues for many users. There are also no newer plugins included in the current v10 releases on the sister site. They're exactly the same as v9... The new Abbey Rd plugin is the only new v10 plugin released by Waves, and this isn't included with VR's release.

 

Rather than trying to start an argument over nothing, why not clarify for all who need help by what you have to contribute.Thank you...

Version 10 does indeed offer newer versions of existing plugins as well as some new offerings. More to come for sure.
Version 10 of the V.R. release allows downloading new and updating existing version 10 plugins Waves Central.

This is how I update now. All you need to do is keep the same folder where as an off-line installer location or, create a new folder as a neww ofline installer for any given single plugin(s) or bundles. Just repatch after any new install.

A great deal easier than trying to download 3 to 5 gig in parts through the sister site.

My current off-line installer is 1.83g. No instruments or plugins I never use.

 

Ok... I've downloaded Waves.Complete.2018.02.27.WiN from the sister site. But my issue is when I unzip the patch folder, the executable file is no longer there? Any suggestions?

 

Never mind. Thanks you all very much for your help. I got it working, I think. I had to use winrar to gain access to the executable file and I did have one dialog box upon launching pro tools (see attached) but I choose cancel and every things appear to be OK...

 

what was your experience ? are you happy with that waves 10 version ?

because there is also the 2018.07.23 version
