I've been listening to a few Electro house tracks recently which use a very bassy, low-pitched electro synth, similar to the one used in 'Global Deejays & Niels Van Gogh - Bring It Back' and a few others (linked below) and I've been wondering how I could reproduce this sound in a VST such as Massive? Can't seem to find many sample packs that recreate it so I assumed it's a simple synth you can make yourself but I've never figured it out. Can anyone point me in the right direction with either how to create the sound or a preset pack which includes it? Here are 2 example tracks:

If I understand right, you hunt for saw "Benny Benassi" bass sound?

In that case, simple saw, distortion and side chain compression should do the job :)

There is tons of videos on You Tube concerning that particular sound, type something like saw/electro/(artist name) bass tutorial massive and enjoy :)

First hit on: saw bass massive

If you are searching for soundsets, here are two Massive Soundsets that pretty much sounds like the sound you want:

I have to admit, the tutorial Xsze postet sounds very very similar to the song you postet *yes*

Massive thanks guys! (excuse the pun). Xsze and Someone both of you really helped point me in the right direction. That video does indeed sound like the track I linked to. But I suppose I had a pre-conception that this sound/synth kinda 'included' more low-end sub bass that you can hear accompany the sound. How would you recommend getting more of a bass with the sound, or any tips on what existing sounds to use? Similar to the 'Benny Benassi' sound as you said. The saw synth on it's own can sound rather empty!

    Layering, pitchbending, filtering, clever mixing...
When you hear it, even if the basic sound is quite simple, there's much more going on : no preset will give you more than basic/static sounds.
