i really dislike those clearly yung marketing people that comes up with shit like this. i dont carre where they work at, they should grow some moral and some decency. Who the fuck mentiones Public beta and 14days TRIAL in the same line and dont see any issue at all? some gaming company that wants to sell some hotshot game named candycrush9000

 

Somehow I missed this post until now.. This is really amazing, Bx is more favorable than UAD to me for any similar emulations, mostly because it can get similar quality crisp "unsaturated" feeling sounds without the proprietary hardware.

I think I'll redo the "SSL Drunken Monkey" test with these included now

We already have more than enough 4000 series stuff. Super analogue stuff please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

 

What exactly makes this sound $300 different than what's already out there...besides it's Brainworx and new? From the vids, it sounds ok, but not, "Wow, this really stands out!"...maybe the overprice makes it better?

Another SSL emulation? In 2018?

 

Nothing really. They have the curves down, but that's about it. The dynamic section is really lacking. When compared to a real desk this plugin is lacking so much tone and excitement. Doesn't get the right snap that SSL should have. Doesn't matter if you drive the plug more or add extra saturation plugs, it' just sounds like every other basic vst compressor. Makes things papery and thin instead of giving things power.

 

@Friggy Pretty much my guess. Slap on a nice interface, charge a ridiculous price, doesn't sound standout. Sold! Sounds like the base standards of another certain plugin company.

 

It's hard to get a good idea of what emulations do until you actually use them yourself.

My personal choice until I get to use the BX_Console series, is the the SSL Duende series. Having much better results that with the Wave SSL 400 series. The Duende series give you exceelent results right away. Duende also has better headroom in & out than the waves series.
