I saved a few favourite instrument in kontakt from a library. that had a custom gui. Patch and sample save

I then renamed the folder i got them from. or something

The Instruments would not load

it was asking for .nkc and .nkr

i copied the .nkc and .nkr from the original library folder

SO i did a "batch re save" to convert the folder to work

but
gui is blank
What have i done and how can i fix this

 

Hi google,

try this way (if there's wallpaper.png in this library directory):
Click on "instrument options", then "instrument" tab, and browse to finally load your wallpaper (a .png file).
If this works, don't forget to resave it...

Well, the batch resave operation actually has an obscure function in which it will convert a pre-organized folder of scripts, wallpapers and other resource media into a the nkr file you're talking about, which is known as a resource container. The problem in your case was that the batch resave function severed the link between the patch and the existing nkr file after it didn't recognize the folder structure. Unfortunately, resource containers are difficult to work with if you don't have the original files placed into the nkr file when it was created.

If you have a copy of the patch file before you did the batch resave function, use that and then if a "missing samples" dialog comes up asking for the nkr file, use the Browse for Folder option and point it to the folder for that entire library, making sure that the nkr file is somewhere inside that folder. If this works, then resave the individual patch, and repeat the process for any other affected instrument patches.

Using the info on these posts I got my gui back.

I'm saving this post so I can go back to it if I F things up again.
