Electronic Funk Tutorial Chord sounds (prince funky)

    Hi, I really like this chord sound at 1.08, its a prince type funky sound, does anyone know a good setting for this sound. I have the tal uno lx , but I can't get this exact sound. If someone could give me an exact preset that would be amazing. If anyone has anything funky that they want to add to this thread that would be cool.

    This remake in fl studio for 24k magic by Bruno Mars has a kind of similar sound , very funky but not exactly the same.

    Just get a Juno emulation plug and pause the video full screen, you can see/copy all his settings on the analog synth ehehe.

    Ive looked high and low asked people and everything for some Prince,time,and rick james presets and havent found nor gotten any.LOL If someone were to make a sound bank for a vst or even a loop pack they would make a killing!

    @taskforce: Great idea, that didn't occur to me for some reason but it seems obvious now. Cheers

    Just regular brass synth with some pitch and vibrato modulation ...timing is key ;)

    More a demo than a tutorial but sounds very cool anyway, Prince would be proud.

    @Digital Rick James : a prince preset pack for diva or tal uno lx would be amazing

    Anything that emulates or has samples from the Linn LM1 will give you an authentic Prince sound with minimal tweaks. The rest is funk baby :)

    Ps: The free sample pack mentioned (purpledrums) is quite close although not so high quality, still very usable

    You don't even need a Juno emulation for this simple sound:
    Sawtooth OSC, a bit of chorus (ideally sounding like the BBD chorus in the Juno), medium LPF cutoff frequency with a bit of attack > sustain modulation and about 30% resonance. I just tried it on GR-16, no prob :wink:
