you definitely see the truth in this, i was wrong AF but won't kick myself because it was the same persistence that got me working in music. in fact i deserve to eat it because i chose to pursue music instead of her.

Also try to picture the type of 10/10 that would have made me lose my marbles for a decade..

Thanks for tolerating the shananigans in the thread OP, my feels is that this is on topic however :mates:

Doing a lot of iOS gaming these days (always on the road) like Hearthstone (any other players here?)
Also replaying a lot of old point-n-click adventures like day of the tentacle, sam & max etc.. I used to get so soaked up in those wonderful pixelly animations back in the days. Fun fact: I tried to make my 2 sons enthusiastic about adventure games but they said it's so boring and the graphics are ugly... spoiled 4D VR kids nowadays

Also I play a lot of the usual nowadays stuff.. fortnite, pubg and last but not least Fifa.

I don't think I'll ever retire from gaming lol!

    Peace from Amsterdam :chilling:

Wow man, that is the last batch of C64, with the design of the failed C128.

Now I remember that for copying games I bought the (back in the day) ground breaking floppy disk unit and specially "The Final Cartridge III". A cartridge that was an OS on its own: the first OS with windows I've used before the Amiga OS. Using a one button joystick lol.

It had a notepad and calculator! But I only used it to do memory dumps to disk of games already loaded. It worked so great until the C64 game developers came out with a trick that wasn't supported by the cartridge: to use registers of the famous SID sound chip memory so the data was missed by the cartridge.

Damn SID... you were too good even for that!!

that final cartridge III was a gamechanger, not really sure if i remember why but i do know it was awesome, think it even expanded the huge memory of 64kb

In the two meanings of the expression

Similar, the cartridges had their own ROM memory with a pretty similar speed than the ROM/RAM of that days. But it couldn't add more "free RAM" memory.

I remember the MSX computers, competitors of the C64 and Spectrum. They released all their games in cartridges, so they had much more capacity. Well, like Nintendo consoles did for a long time.

Grew up in and out of the arcades, played everything from Asteroids to Moon Cresta to Phoenix to Galaxian to Pacman to Wonderboy to Street Fighter and beyond. Moved to Atari St and Amiga and played a lot of adventure games too like the Larry series. The last 22 yrs my thing mainly is RPG and Strategy. I also like shooters with soul like the last Wolfenstein. My all time fav title is Heroes of Might and Magic, i play Homm 7 very often (although flawed). I also love stealth games like Thief and Metal Gear Solid and action adventure with various objectives like GTA and Mafia. I did enjoy the Dishonored series, played them all very stealthily lol. I used to love the Vampire series RPGs too. Count me in for D&D anytime too (v3.5).
    Cheers

I started on DOOM, HOM&M and Starcraft for PC; Mortal Kombat, Zelda: A Link to The Past, Star Fox, etc. on SNES since I'm an 80's baby, 90's kid, so SNES was my shit...I did spend way too much time playing NES as well, though.
I'm currently playing some older games for PC, The Elder Scrolls: Oblivion (which is better than Skyrim, in my opinion, due to character detailing and storyline,) and am always going back to the new DOOM, the Farcry, Fallout and Crysis series' and am just about to start the Starcraft II's DLC's. I have also been meaning to play the Mass Effect series so my friend will *stop bitching* at me about how I'm "....missing out." :bash:
I haven't been playing video games as much in the last year, as I've been diving heavily into more advanced music production, as opposed to just making and lightly mixing tracks. Video games are now my "Well, shit; I guess I have to take another break from mixng/mastering." go-to. :hahaha:
(Also? Portal is a sonuvabitch, Judge Dredd. That game torments my soul. :suicide: )

Everything about Portal is just so well done. A 10/10 game for me.
Loved it when it first slipped almost unnoticed with the Half-Life Orange box release on the 360.
Portal 2 improved and bettered what was already top notch, and it has Stephen Merchant in it.

Beat it a few times to gain achievements. Well worth sticking with, even if you have to resort to a walkthrough once in a while when stuck.

Haha, I remember goddamn box. One of my friends had called me up and was like "My girlfriends out of town, we should jam!!" So, I come over, hyped to play some guitar through a half-stack, and? He had just got that "almost unnoticed" game in with Half-Life. We did not jam. I fucked around making beats on his computer (he uses a MAC, but I can make beats with a couple buckets and a cassette recorder if that's all I have,) until about 2 AM and he was still glued to that game. The running joke with some of my friends is, if you want to get someone to do you a solid, but it's kind of a bullshit one and you both know it, you try and sell them on it with "Come on....they'll be cake!!" :hahaha:
(It is a dope game. I'm just picky when it comes to choosing which games I squander my time on. Portal 2 definitely made it a 10/10, though.)
