What's the most complicated music you've ever heard?

    These are my words:

1- Some music players or makers make the music so complicated to show their aptitudes by using their skills and techniques exaggeratedly.

2- Music theory or virtuosity are their weapons flashing throughout their music but they should remember that complication doesn't always gives the best result concerning all aspects of music.

3- Their manners disappoint other music makers that want to look at the music from other angles.

Schoenbergs dodecaphonism was a complete fail. He himself got famous with it but it failed. It failed blessedly. Bollocks.

This helps me during psychosis - complex? I guess it all depends on the interpreter. But I loved the subject of your post, @foster911 :winker:

Yes, u took the words right out of my mouth. Some of the deathmetal gtr virtuosos are insanely talented and write extremely complex songs. As old as it is, Speed metal symphony is still a "benchmark" for shredders and complexity. Poor becker, and freidman is/was a beast. I admire your tastes in musicians. Same as my idols. I saw the last few hendix experience shows that were stacked with shredders but the guitarist that left me with a lasting impression was Eric Johnson, a shredder but with feeling and emotion. Unlike Zack Wilde who just shredded.
So complexity means nothing without feeling. My 2¢

Note, this was way before daws and melodyne even existed.. Talent, tape and consoles

I posted on page 1 about this band from Berlin "The Season Standard". They only released one album in 2008 and since I guess they are split up. But this album is a masterpiece in my opinion. Unfortunately the two songs available on youtube that I posted are in bad quality.
So I uploaded the whole album in high quality. You guys should really check that out if you love Mathrock/Artrock/Jazzcore and so on, because they are unknown and underrated and crazy.

Hope you guys like it :) When I'm rich (approximately in 20 years when I inherit money) I will pay them a million just to perform live. And I will drink a shot every time the drummer hits the snare.

There are timestamps in the description. I especially recommend listening to the last track of the album!

Not the most complicated music per se, but the oeuvre of one of the most brilliant musical minds of our time, without a doubt. Lots of madness, but the method is so infectious that you'll stop noticing the madness :)

However abrasive this sounded the first three times I listened to it, this example here makes so much sense to me now that I hardly realise how complex it is anymore:

    But there's So. Much. More.
