music is not playing the notes,bro-it is hurting me,as a musician and bassplayer ,to listen to your playing.sorry,but what you are doing is not playing the songs!!!anyway...maybe you will understand..maybe not-
don`t practise too much-feel it!!

With all respect, I disagree. Duskwings is kind enough to share some of his playing and why would that hurt you as a musician? A pointless and slight offending thing to say if you'd ask me. Everyone has it's own interpretation and view on feel, take that as a fact. The sound quality is pretty crappy, but I enjoyed the clip anyway. Not because it is my style or feel or whatever, but just because I like to see what other musicians are up to. So, nice playing Duskwings! and keep us posted...

a good way to make music actually is playing notes,i don t know what other video of mine u watched,sorry if it hurt u as a musician (?),but when u write don t practice too much,just feel it,u seem just one of the many people who do what they can instead of what they want,that s the difference between us.
wanna talk about feeling?i m here,but before replying aste some times watching some other stuff i did,there are things that r challenging to do as they were written and intended and others that allow the musician to feel free to do what he wants.
i still prefer doing something that comes to life whenever i pick up the guitar rather than burying myself under a mountain of remixes.
practice is not everything,it depends on your intentions,and on how lucjy u are before people find out u play the same 4 notes on and on,which is good for a song,not for a career,i don t think there s room for mor than one bob dylan in the world

 

hey duskwind and all the others,
as i said ,i play bass,and i adore jaco,,i did not say ,do not practice at all,how could anyone become a better musician...what i meant is,and maybe i am oldschool,you have to look behind the notes and look at the piece as a whole thing..i do not tell anything new here-and hey,it was my opinion,and still is!..and how will you become a better musician,without being critizised?
i am playing bass since almost 25 years and make my life from being a musician and i do still practice,too, of course-but in my musician life,reality showed me,that going out and play.is the best teacher,you can practice scales and become faster and faster,if this is what you want,but -speed isn`t all what music is about..playing together with other,hopefully better musicians then you(we) are y(our)self(es) is one of the best teachers....music means everything to me,it was and is my philosophy..
so i just wanted to say what i mean-you know? no offending here-just an opinion of an musician..and human being..i hoped i could do that here between musicians..please continue making music and loving musicians,as you said,it is much better than watching tv,or rob a bank or "i still prefer doing something that comes to life whenever i pick up the guitar rather than burying myself under a mountain of remixeswhatever..."...so have a great day

Don´t listen to other morons practise practise practise the more you play the better you will be so practice as much as you can.
But don´t forget to put in some practice time in areas like vibratos,phrasing,bendings, dynamic playing = (strong notes sometimes and soft tones other times).Not just scales,sweeping,legato,alternate picking.
And don´t forget rythm and chord either as they are the fundamental of music.
Oh and i forgot the golden rule try to always practice to a drummachine or a metronome
