    Are you sure?
Unless you're talking about standard workaround when inserting level meter as a plugin and reading a meter value of a plugin, it doesn't have a proper pre-fader metering (neither Cubase has, which has input metering - not quite pre-fader).

If you know something more, how to activate pre-fader metering mode, please tell more ;)

S1 v3 had a lot of mixing upgrades so I like that they focused on mostly production with this v4 upgrade. Impact XT and Sampler XT are finally usable with the new pattern and drum editor featuring the kool new probability and repeat options allowing for some serious pattern variation. Ripple editing is a nice option to have and the Song import was long overdue, AAF Session import and export is a big requested feature that was needed, and that Chord Lane for audio and midi might be special (gotta see it in action first hand). ARA 2 makes S1 future orientated and I'm excited to see the new Melodyne, Revoice Pro, & Vocalign improvements using ARA 2. If Zplane ever get their head out of their azz and implements ARA into Vielklang they would take over the tuning market, lol.

Overall a very solid upgrade IMHO, unfortunately $149 from v3 is a bit steep IMHO, should have been $79-$99 from v3 but it is what it is.

Hopefully v4 gets more MIDI improvement and multi-core optimization for the large core i7-i9 Ryzen CPU's.

I'm also thinking of picking up a Presonus Quantum TB interface too as S1 is my main Production/Mixing DAW, and the ability to work at 16 buffer is very tempting

I believe he asks for the pre-fader metering. I also want this feature.

I give you 1 little example. There are still more than enough features in cubase that s1 v4 still misses to play with the big guys;) - "control room".

Again v4 got nice features for the home producer and there is nothing wrong with that.
I would have prefered more bread and butter features. Not everyone needs a chord track or improved impact xt feature.

No, we were talking about pre-fader metering, not pre-fader sends...Well, I was hoping for a moment that there was some kind of magic hidden button which would activate it, but no...
I can't believe that S1 which is mostly targeting Pro Tools and Cubase users, still doesn't have pre fader metering, not a deal breaker but still it would be nice :)

What's the point of Control Room? Really?
    Do we really need this?
Speaking about 'big guys', when Cubase will make something similar to Splitter? Or Splitter is too childish for real-pro-people? ;) Oh, what about MixFX\Engine? Or ARA2 and Melodyne and Revoice intagration? Probably these things also exist for kids and bedrooms only. I can keep going and listing "+s" of S1 for days and nights. If we're talking about mixing, S1 just crushing Cubase. The only thing which prevents people to switch from Cubase to S1 is some midi things and "things for libraries".

I agree with choice of colors in V3.x it was almost a deal breaker for me, I couldn't stand it, but V4 improved in this bit, there is more customization options and color pallete for tracks and clips is the best so far, way more rich and vibrant than any previous version.
It would be nice to have more cutomization options, but at least its step forward.

I did not want to hurt your feelings. "Real pro people"?!? Sorry you made me laugh.

Nevermind the main updated/new features are not usefull for me in my studio. With a live/recording room, some hardware and a lot of inputs. Period. However I repeat myself again they are usefull for the typical home producer. Thats fine. ...Still no prefader metering... :bleh::mates:

There is no point in anything if you don't understand the concept of advanced technology.
Might as well use tape, but im afraid you'd just cut yourself my friend.

Well, "real-pro-people" was a reference to your words about "bedroom producers".
Anyway, no, you did not hurt my feeling ;D
I just tired of those "Von_Steyr-style-nonsenses" about how cool it is to use Cubase and how "childish" to use anything else.
BTW what's the point of pre-fader level metering?

So, Cubase is an "advanced technology" :hahaha:
They stuck in the past. My grandma's denture is more advanced than Cubase.

Different people, different needs. Doesn't really matter what DAW you decide to work on, everything gets the same job done. This discussion reminds me of the "Fruity Loops" days when everyone said it's a children's toy.

Every time there is a Studio One thread it brings out such negativity from some...... why is that?
