Thank you, this was missing from my music documentary catalog

 

Field recording is something that deeply interests me but I have not yet dived in deep. When I do I know that I will disappear and become involved in a way that will preclude most everything else in a narrow focus. I cannot do that with a wife and daughter. It is hard enough for me to be here and now (barely) as is.

 

Field recording is indeed time consuming!!

I don´t have a wife and my kids isn´t really kids any longer so my situation is a bit different from yours.

Im having a lot of fun recording nearly anything that makes a sound and twisting it with a dusin of plugs afterwards

 

Its easy to get lost in it as well. I take my zoom h4n 2009 version lol everywhere. Even at work. I wash and clean tour buses as my day job. My bosses let me do it thankfully. Well as long as it doesnt come first at work haha. But i e recorded engine inside of bus inside the engine. Just to name a few. Even the gate with contact mics. There are so much to capture besides birds and rain. I record that all the time too lolol.

 

For example. Just recorded this with my android. Speaking of which. If you have android and love field recording... Get Field Recorder. The best. No other android app like it. Only 5 bucks and worth so much more. Eq limit soft limit just to name a couple. My phone is old and sucks but without field recorder would sound like white noise lol. Play with that file any way you want. Only 11 seconds but...
