Yup, ACID +1. As @taskforce said, it really does make autosyncing/mixing of multiple sample tracks etc a total no-brainer...

I´m still not sure what you want, but a looper came to my mind from the description.

    https://www.giadamusic.com/
Really lightweighted and cross platform (win, mac and linux) and of course free.

Speaking for myself, when trying to mangle multiple loops and make a new groove out of, I'd also wanna be able to slice them and rearrange slices to really get something different and more interesting out of them.
I have to agree that Ableton is just built for that purpose, also I have to agree that 5 instances of Egoist are probably the quickest way to do that, and I have tried a lot of slicers. By coincidence, Egoist is also available on tablets .
Speaking of fast tools, I also wouldn't wanna miss Effectrix which I still see as a great compromise between features and speed of use.
Believe me, there's hardly anything you cannot do with this rather straightforward combo.

Geist can do that. It has a sampler/slicer included which will automaticaly detect the bpm of the loops you feed it, slice and send the slices of those to different pads/line of its sequencer, with the detected groove (if it's not on the grid, the step concerned will have the right timing information). Of course you can also do your own grooves with said sequencer, use the groove of imported loops to do your own, save those groove as groove preset (there are a lot of those out there, ie groove monkey), export them in your daw in midi or save them as midi file with the right timing info.
Geist 1 uses less ressources and is less buggy than Geist 2 but both do it.

Both Guru, Geist 1, and xfer Nerve, compare and match timing/rhytm/score and loudness when you put different REX loop in it. Stylus rmx also has a way of doing this.

I had a really bad experience with ACID and had to quit using it. I too was left with only REEFER, and ALCOHOL 120 for mounting.

Aweome man, Guru is a great software.
Just in case, Geist is the follow up to Guru and it also comes in stand alone. Guru has a few things I like over Geist 1...Better filters imo.
Happy you found your fit.

My friend, i did over 20 released remixes, 3-4 dance albums and a ton of pre-programmed dj mixes since 1998 in Acid.
In the start i had it being the midi master clock driving my Roland MC50 in which i used to sequence my synths. These last years I switched to use Cubase and Sonar too but for dance oriented projects even with all its shortcomings Acid 's workflow gets the job done faster than everything. Ableton still doesn't comply with pitch metadata realtime. All these gadgets in there, i wonder what they are thinking lol. Sonar does comply with pitch metadata realtime, so does Mixcraft and Magix MusicMaker and in Mac Logic and Garage Band.
And now Acid is 64bit i'm back fulltime with it.
PS: I dunno why everyone thinks Acid's new dark interface is great. It pops in my eyes, i like easy on the eye and tactile guis. I guess i'll get used to it or they 'll be forced to bring an option to change back to legacy gui from my complaints lol.
    Cheers

In Geist 1 or 2 the easiest is just to ctrl + left click on the pattern you want to export and just drag and drop it in your daw. The whole pattern will be exported with all timing information in form of a midi clip. From there it depends of your daw, most can apply midi timing info to other type of clips, or they can be saved in groove data, whatever. If you had a groove preset on top of you shift data in the sequencer in Geist it will also include that information. Pad one is C2, Pad 2 C#2, etc on the piano roll of your daw...
You can also save your pattern in midi without drag and dropping it in both Geist.

    i think i get it :
you would like to have a small .exe file, that could open a specific folder, and :

1- grab a wav file, slice it in 1/8, 1/16,1/4, etc, and PERMUTATE the slices positions, and finally, save it as original_name-sliced1-8.wav

    or

2 - go to a folder, randomly pick 3-8 beat-identical files (more or less the same file size so lengths match, if same tempo), then, place file1 at 1:01:01, file2 at 1:2:1, file3 at 1:3:1 and so on and so on, once done, save montage as 'file3-6-2-4-1-5-8-7.wav'

    or

3- browse folder, pick file17, slice it at 1/8, grab slice 2 , pick file34, slice it at 1/4, pick slice 2, pick file12, slice at 1/16, pick slice 7...
and grab each selected slices, and place them 1 after the other, i order or randomly, finally save audio montage as 'random-slices1::30.wav'.

-allow the app to batch generate files once... or 200 times ... with options to repeat/not repeat slices/files... or even browse different folders...

is this close to what your looking for ? to randomly generate 100 or 1000 files... ?

if i knew how to code, i would code it in 2 minutes...

funny, 2-3 years ago, the audioz stats were showing almost 500'000 visitors from Us, 450'000 from france, etc etc... there MUST be some coding guys in this forum, right ? oh, i forget... those eventual 'coders' would be ok with doing such .exe... if in return they got a 2-year uploaded, a full kontakt ultimate 11, + the waves mercury bundle .
