    Hi all ^_^

A few years ago there was a topic thread here about which USB hub technology /chip components are best for low latency digital audio transmission, but I cannot find it.

I have a Windows PC, an external USB-2 audio interface and some iPads with MIDI/synth/audio effect apps and want to connect everything to my PC via USB for digital audio+MIDI integration. I have an iPad-2 (USB 2) and an iPad Air (USB-3) and some utility apps which enable digital audio over USB.

Can anyone recommend a good USB-3 hub with low latency for digital audio transmission, ideally with individual power on/off control of each port ?

    * I'll probably connect the audio interface to it's own separate USB port.

    Thanks ^_^

After using a dozen different models we got tired of cheap materials and craftsmanship and bought 3 Tripp Lite 7-Port Rugged Industrial USB 3.0 Super Speed Hub. They are not cheap compared to other brands, but they are worth every penny. Currently Tiger Direct has them discounted from $386 to $125 a piece.http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=9713247CatId=11652
They have several others but I can not recommend those because I have not used them. On a side note, always connect your audio interface directly to the USB port.

To safely remove your USB devices or remount ejected USB devices without unplugging and plugging you can use one of several software available for free.https://www.raymond.cc/blog/remount...moved-usb-device-without-unplug-and-reinsert/

... I forgot to add - the hub should ideally be a powered type - to feed no -powered devices like MIDI controllers.

    its doesn't work.
the more unused usb port, the more noise you take, and probably you cant hear.(thats why thunderbolt is better)
and the usb cable transferring massage and energy together can causing more noise.
audio gear need power supply to amp the sound output but usb cant running with enough power.
