It would be great to have a forum that we can all just agree and disagree in without it ending up in a slagging match as it often does. I dig peace and unity and would just love to communicate with others on this sight without feeling afraid that I might get shot down for having an opinion on something or for saying something that others might disagree with and ending up with the full wrath of others judgements!

This forum is just a microcosm of the real world unfortunately but the more that we discuss these faults then maybe the more that we can sort this shit out. (Or maybe not) I'm just a dreamer so shoot me. MAGA.

I was referring to some members that jump into a thread with only one goal: to divert attention from the OP's goal with asinine statements and/or insults to the OP. There are here members whose sole contribution to this Forum has been insults, profanity and stupidity. It is time to ban them permanently from the site.

Without bringing up what happened in the past,
I don't understand why we got off on the wrong foot or what disagreements you had before ,
If you ever want to talk normal and you have differing opinions and views I would like to hear them.
If you love jazz you probably love 90% of the same things I do.

Yeah these guys contribute nothing and disrupt the flow of a decent conversation. We really should root them out and send them on their way!!

    @TonyG
Possibly the most difficult thing for a person educated extremely well in a specific discipline is to refrain from commenting on a public board where the information is wrong based on what they learned over decades and they then are bordering on having a need to set the record straight. I think this while morally good in principle, in action it can be detrimental and go sideways.
My time here reminded me that people truly have to work things out for themselves. If they are serious about anything they won't take anything written on a public forum anywhere as being gospel and that nobody should exert too much energy telling anyone anything, other than to give a link where they can find whatever it is they seek.

It's not a perfect world and we are not perfect any one of us. I got over my silly self in anger I felt towards a couple of members and forgave. But all the same, a few members while forgiven if that is even appropriate, I will not take the ignore button off. The worst thing anyone that is passionate about what they believe in can do to themselves, is to instigate a temptation willingly that brings out the worst traits in themselves. I believe that to be intelligent.

Free speech should always remain! Even if what is said is silly and rude. Without it what is left are shallow responses that mean nothing.

I am freedom of speech advocate, however, many people wrongly assume that it entitles them to express their views whenever, wherever, and how they want. For example, the private sector is not required to let free speech reign throughout the workplace. Here the Forum's Rules set limits on what is allowed. Accordingly, any offensive remarks about race, gender, religion, sexual orientation should be banned. Freedom of speech is not freedom from repercussion.

I agree with you on that-- 100%. We have witnessed that tonight on this very thread. Thank you @Introninja for your prompt response.

I agree with what you say but even if idiots spouse off racist or gender/racist remarks and we disagree, we still have to keep free speech otherwise our freedom disappears and it ends up that everyone becomes too scared to say anything for fear of incrimination and a possible jail sentence. Check out what happened to Count Dankula (On Youtube) for joking about Nazis. Scary!

That freedom is limited once you become a member of this site and agree to abide by its rules. You have a choice, keep your comments within the rules or be banned. We are not the proprietors of this site. We are simply guests, and house rules limit what we are allowed to say.

Edit: I did not want to expand on this theme but I want to explain something that may help you as well as others understand freedom of speech better. At least here, in the United States, the constitutional right to freedom of speech and expression was created to protect us,the people, from government restriction. The First Amendment states, in relevant part, that: “Congress shall make no law...abridging freedom of speech.” It means that people can express an opinion (even an unpopular or unsavory one) without fear of government censorship. That protection does not extend to private entities and private spaces. In a private place, the First Amendment does not protect the content of your speech.

Within certain forums there are certain rules I agree. Outside of these forums anything used to go! The leftist socialist agenda mainly sponsored by George Sorros is making this almost impossible which means that we cannot even criticize Main Stream Media without being banned from the likes of Twitter, Facebook or Youtube! Anyway I'm off topic here soz!!!!
P.S. If you look up George Sorros on the google search engine you will get a distorted version as google is a Propaganda machine owned by the scumbag lying elites!

  16. No! No1 That's going too far. Nobody has the freedom to play Bossa Nova. Nobody has to dance to it even it gets their hips moving.

Moderators!!!!!! It's all your fault for running an online community. All your fault. Blame, anger, rant and blame.

    And no more Bossa Nova.

I know that politics are a no no here and I respect that and I also agree that trolls should be banned from this sight TonyG. Outside of these forums I beleve that freedom of speech should always be allowed, no matter the topic. If we ban that then we are just slaves to the system and we become disempowered without a voice! OK nuf said. Cheers.
