I've been AWOL from here for a year or 2! Back and ready to get involved again :)

Here's a song I just released inspired by the surf music in the 70s. I added a modern touch to it and threw on Migos' Bad and Boujee acapella when I couldn't find the right songwriter for it and well... I ended up loving the combination.

I'm always kinda scared when releasing music because of the mixing and mastering, so really I'd like feedback on the mixing and mastering (and the song to be honest). I was unsure to make the overall mix even louder and ended up letting it breathe a little bit (just a lil bit).

    Thanks guys.

Pretty well done. There is not much to note, aside from some small points.
The track is clipping at +1dBFS and has , if I remember right, ~ -11LUFS and both values are too high for some plattforms (especially the +1dBFS, which is just too high).
It seems you're using a sinewave-like bass, which drops down to ~30Hz and that's too low for most monitors (even studio nearfields) to reproduce.

Thank you for this!! Probably the best points I could have got.

I mastered with A.O.M invisible limiter to -0.01 I think, which probably is too risky it seems especially when using sites like SC that compress differently. think -0.2db ceiling could be a better choice.

Yeah the sine wave dropped very low, not sure if I put a low cut on that in the end.

Thanks again, gonna fix that up now!

One thing is though. I always thought as long as the last thing in the process chain when mastering was the limiter that had a celing below 0, which I usually do -0.1 or -0.2, It won't clip. What would you say is the best ceiling level just in case? (this master was at -0.01 for some reason which I don't do ever.)

Nice track! I would make the vocals a tad louder. You'll create some space if you turn down the overall level.
Best to use a brickwall limiter for accurate levels.

    New standard is -1dBFS.

I have the impression, you did, but since there are no harmonics/overtones in a sine wave there's nothing to remain audible at 30Hz, unless you use at least midrange monitors.

It is possible that this happened by converting to mp3. Just make a wav and a mp3 export and compare them (best with offline measuring).
And it's also possible that the limiter doesn't catch ISPs (inter sample peaks).

Hi, i know i'm a bit HS but i'd really like to now how you get to measure those values on any song. It would be so useful !

And the remix is cool, i'm not an expert in mixing nor in mastering but these points seems more than ok to me.

No prob (if OP doesn't mind). Free analyser (+ correlation meter, rms & peak display) Voxengo SPAN.
Not free, but incredible meter for almost everything in audio, DMG Audio TrackMeter.

Yeah fair enough, I think I just thought as long as it's under 0 we're all good, but it's not the case all the time. I'm limiting my mixes to -0.2 from now.
