Some of the reactions in the thread https://audiosex.pro/threads/rip-avicii.38363/ made me open this thread.
I find it very irritating how some people here responded to AVICII's death.
No mater how much, or not, we like his music and/or the way he lived, there is not a single reason to be happy about anothers persons death, unless he has hurt someone in a very bad and serious way and maybe not even then.
Of course there are musicians and producers I find embarrasing, repugnant or disgusting, but I would never be happy about their death, at all.
Hopefully we all have family and friends, who would miss us.
Respect life and death and treat others just as you would like to be treated.

There are some who barely grieve about the deaths of people they never knew.
Take myself: while fully cognisant of roughly 105 people dying each and every minute (almost 2 per second), I'm not struggling to choke back my tears.
People around the world respond to death in different ways; some purportedly rely on gallows humor to numb the agony of knowing that 151,600 people died yesterday. We must learn to make allowances for cultural diversity. Live and let live, I say.
"But those other 151,600 people weren't famous, not like avicci! why would anyone mourn, they're irrelevant!" you protest. And yet, some formalists/religious fanatics continue to insist that all human life is equally precious.

Not to care about anothers persons death and to say something like "thank God, this punk is dead" are two completely different stories.
The first is ok, the second is disrespectful.

Point taken. Crashing funerals is a bit too Harold and Maude, even for me.

mmm..... we are all going to die... and I can shure you that know one will CRY for the 99% of us when we die..
I think that with AVICCI..or how ever that thing is written is the word ((COMMERCIAL MUSIC super explote it x 2 )) ...
Music is not just about Getting Rich..and Fame.. creativity is not 100% about Commercial Succes, and what about not a Western "DJ" - musicians Dies that nobody knows ?--- it is like David Bowie for example.. or.. Jimmy Heandrix.. or .. all the Famous People that had COMMERCIAL succes while they were alive... music now.. it is all about HITS.. and more noise.. and CATCHY songs.. but music is more than that.. a lot more.. by the way in my opinion TIESTO ... aVicci and all those.. are terrible musicians.. yes he was young.. and he was on the WESTERN news.. mm... this blue eye world.. it is very CHEAP.. and... commercial.. music is something else.. too... i mean.. every human been .. is equal.. and sacred,,, but we put more value to some than others.. just because of the "succes" it is like TOMORROW britney spears DIES ¡ damn.. CNN news ... and tears,, for britney.. I mean.. we will cry for Britney and.. what the hell does that means ???... like been a ARTIST is like been some sort.. KING or GOD:. it is not... music.. is something else.

To the OP: actually, indifference or not caring are far worse than hate!

You could argue that as a celebrity you have a duty to be clean-living, or do you want young people to copy you and take drugs, abuse alcohol etc .. and hurt themselves. In that sense, yes, he could have hurt people by promoting a destructive lifestyle. But I am saying this as a generlisation; I don't know whether said celebrity actually abused drugs or alcohol.

Some peoples reactions to this isnt necessarily because they disrespect the death of this guy........ It looks a lot more like they´ve mixed it up with the fact they really hate his "music".

You know No Avenger .... people often get things mixed up and being too fast on the keyboard, so don´t take it personally.

He never made music about alcohol, drugs or rock star lifestyle like most of the rappers and rap music in the industry. Most of his songs were about meaningful subjects like love, family and alike. Even if he abused alcohol or whatever, he's never put it into his music.

Yeah, I was definitely shocked when I heard he is dead. Anyway, I'm more shocked when I saw how some people react to his death. It's fine when you don't like someone his music for whatever reason you have, but come on it's not very nice to still react in a negative way or being 'happy' after someone just died. How would that be for all his relatives, friends or the ones that do really love him? Will that help them to process grief? It's even more sad when you know his background and that he died on such a young age.

In my opinion if you don't have anything nice to say you shouldn't react at all especially with situations like this or otherwise be very careful. Situations like deaths could be very sensitive and is never fun. You can hurt people with this. To be honest whether you like him or not I think everyone will sign up for all the successes that he was having. Maybe a few not for what he was making, but in the genres that you make or that you love I think yes.

I don't actually listen to his music. Well, I heard it sometimes on the radio, but then I also can still listen to it. Altough, in general I can listen to everything no matter what genre as long it's a good track. Some of his tracks aren't that bad. To be honest this is a beautiful track from him:
