My studio from 2009 and 2016... definitely miss the vibe but don't miss all that wiring

Ha, programming sounds for the TG500 was one of my first studio jobs. Only lousy 1500 parameters (these Yamaha guys were mental), mastered within seconds. [IMG]

This +100000.... every time I get the urge to want to buy one back I remember all the menu diving. That shit was brutal lol

It's still one of my favorite synths of all time. How can you not fall in love with this:

@aymat I like the 2009 studio better [except for the main monitors, I don't like Mackies].

Nice Yamaha stuff there in the rack and an interesting analogue filter. I'd like to get my dirty hands on one of those TG500s. :)

Very nice red NS10Ms. I've never seen red ones before. Beautiful. :P

    Regarding TG500 programming... https://www.squest.com/Products/MidiQuest11/Instruments/YamahaTG500/ and http://www.oldschooldaw.com/forums/index.php/topic,257.msg3072.html#msg3072

    Cheers!

It wasn't only about the menu diving, but also about the menu structure and those horrible abbreviations. I can't remember how often I said "And what the fuck does this mean again?" [IMG]

Not 1998, but here's some stuff from Winter NAMM 1999. I was doing some work with some of the vendors. Cakewalk was one of them. Here are some pics of their booth: (sorry for the 1999 image quality from a DV video camera)

I also worked with a small young company called NEMESYS, who had a unique new product called GIGASAMPLER (later to be acquired by Tascam). Couldn't find my pictures from their booth, but here are a couple of product shots from back then:

Good times, fun show, but oh so dated!
