    Thanks for the heads up.

Interesting moves going on there. Seems a little "Facebook-like." Is anything ever "free?" Will be interesting to watch the developments of Band Lab. Guess they needed to make a splash, and they've now made two... acquiring Cakewalk... and now giving it for free.

Free tools don't have much chance to get professionally developed.

I reckon that it will only be free for a limited period.

    It's legit.
You create a login. Use the downloader they supply, select Cakewalk to install[select pro version] and away you go.
It installs all the instruments and plugin and loads all your VST's - no ugly messages - yet.

and all of the plugins load into whatever DAW you normally use in full.... dimension...strings etc etc
All you have to do is add the cakewalk plugin directory into your plugin path folders to scan.
generally if you did the default installation, that is
    C:\Program Files\Cakewalk\Dimension Pro
    C:\Program Files\Cakewalk\Shared Plugins and
    C:\Program Files\Cakewalk\VstPlugins

    - it also comes with bit bridge - I use jbridge but nonetheless it's an alternative.

The Bandlab kind work indicates their care about the society and all of those poor musicians, which aligns with the goals of AZ society. I think we should give a big compliment to the Bandlab here in AS.

Take a look in you Download folder in Windows. It seems that the original PROGRAM and INSTRUMENTS *.zip files were downloaded there before they were auto-installed. This is good for installing on off-line PC or archiving your software - of course.

I agree... I like their effort. I hope Gibson put some of the money to good use.

I do fear the FREE thing. Not in the way Foster mentions... just WHAT is free? Is Facebook free? I've never used it, but my family and friends that have, don't like their FREE now. Instagram? Cakewalk?

    Cheers mate

    @BaSsDuDe

How much involvement with "the cloud" do you have to have? Do you get FULL "local" saves? They're not "melody-farming" are they? Ha!

    Thanks for pioneering. Have fun.
