Is Izotope Insight the best loudness meter out there? any other recommendations?

Also, what's the LUFS for Soundcloud, Youtube, iTunes, and Spotify.

and best audio bitrate for youtube videos. Thanks! :)

  5. I don't want to be picky but there isn't a best when it comes to metering. A software meter is either right or it isn't.

    Just sayin.

lol... yes, that's about it. iZotope should be just fine (I use NugenAudio VisLM, esp. for LKFS), the rest is more of aesthetics nature - whether you like dots, bars, lines or bubbles.. ;) Advice: when you pick one, stick with it. Like a visual monitor, it helps if you know/feel what/how it shows stuff, without studying it every time.

For LUFS standards on platforms, just google (or visit the page) for recent info.. it changes and will change.

    YT bitrate:
64~192kbit AAC (not sure), mp4 container
I think it doesn't change anymore when changing video res., for quite some time now.

Approximately -14 LU is the standard for them. No need to force every song to the exact value though, just be approximately around there.

izotope insight is good, but it's not a decent loudness metering plugin and it's a bit dated.
i consider tbpro audio finalloud most useful and interesting, it has all the standards and the ability to adapt audio.

VisLM 2 by Nugen for me :)

BUT, I often use just a capable limiter, such as Fabfilter Pro-L2 which does enough metering :)

I have these meters built in, sometimes I use them :lmao:

  18. For tracking and mixing I use this...
It has a patented ballistic and shows both peak and RMS in a useable form.

For mastering I use the inbuilt LUFS meter in the daw.

We have just improved the Bute Loudness Analyser (Version 1.1.0)

    - A new side menu that you can access by clicking the menu icon on the top left.
    - Saving and Loading sessions.
    - Exporting CSV Files
    - Preview Section (section on top of the history view) overhaul to allow for larger sessions. It now has a zoom in and zoom out function.
    - We have also tackled an issue we had with large sessions (starting over 5 hours) and considerably improved the meter’s performance.
