Is it just me or does it still sound so very average? The kit in the video sounds like shit to me.
Better, improved, etc...still the worst sounding toms of all drum libraries. Cymbals sound so thin and artificial, he seems to over process his samples, same mistake all over again.
Perhaps SSD5 sounds good but this video didnt convince me.
The naughty seal drums destroy SSD5 imo. Also he`s looking more and more like the human Ken doll.

Ok, some of the brand new features are already implemented in Addictive Drums 1, if I remember right, the snare ringing sound deserves a notch filter, the first drum kit isn't really good, to be pollite, and Steven looks ridiculous.
But, the toms of the Deluxe 2 set sound fine and you can't compare mix-ready processed drums from Naughty Seal Audio with "natural" sounding drums like these.

In the video, for a kind of rock style, they sound good and also realistic to me :dunno:
But the cymbals or kick are not my favorites for metal.

From an objective point of view...maybe they are for those who need them to be processed...

Also I laugh so hard when people comment on another human being's looks.
As if they themselves are perfect. Personally...I'm not trying to date the guy( I love women) lol. Just use some of his products.

What a beautiful world we live in when opinions dictate so much.

I don't see what being perfect has to do with commenting on a persons looks. Judging people doesn't require perfection. You're judging people right now, we all do it in some way or another. It's healthy, and a survival trait too.

I am curious, did your really sit there (stand?) and laugh "so hard" though? Like for real? That's kinda strange if you did.

As for slates new library, meh. I don't care for what I heard so far.

Imo, a world without the freedom to have any opinion you want isn't a world worth living in.

    I think I'll stick with Toontrack SD3.

Superior Drummer 3 for me, and they haven't even got to version 5 yet.

Since you seem to carelessly miss my point...let me “enlighten” you. You don’t see? Can you read?

This post isn’t in the “funny” section. I don’t find anything funny about your post of the fat black woman either since you obviously aren’t black. I find that offensive.

As well as I don’t see the point or usefulness of commenting on his looks which have absolutely Nothing to do with the sound of his drum library. Stick to the topic. Nothing is healthy about talking bad about someone. That’s what’s wrong with society right now. No kind words, just comments from the peanut gallery.

You don’t like his stuff, that’s cool. Don’t use it. You wanna bash people with your opinions because you don’t like the way they look, that’s Ugly. And there should be no place in the world for it. Everyone has opinions that one thing you are correct about. But when you chose to “share” what is your opinion and your opinion is Nasty. That’s a whole different thing. Nothing beautiful or wonderful or healthy about that.

And you’re wrong about judging...I don’t have to if you show me what you are about. You just showed me and I believe you! That’s called discernment.

Lastly my comedic friend...I was sitting but I still don’t see what you find strange about standing and laughing at something you read. I guess in your tiny world no one ever stood and laughed in disgust at an off topic ignorant statement. Maybe you can stand and laugh now. Or better yet you can find a better path and a way to lift people up instead of putting them down.

    Enjoy the constructive criticism.

    Have a good night.

But can I make techno with any of that?

Just kidding.... All the sounds in the posts above from the respective libraries sound very useful for a wide variety of music. Ultimately I'm sure a great deal has to do with how you mix and program them.

@blaqmatic , I would agree with what you wrote on the whole but I'm almost sure that @Von_Steyr didn't mean any harm to anyone as the subject of this post is a drum library, not an individual.

    @Von_Steyr thanks for the news & heads-up ^ :wink::bow:

i never used any Steven State plugins.Imho i don't like trying to emulate a mic.I've heard his fg-x mastering processor plugin is ok/good
I won't comment on Superior D3 either, but i heard good things about it from some friends that actually use it.
I personally use Addictive Drums 2 & i'm totally satisfied.Use that with a good eq,compressor & a transient designer & you're good to go(that is if you don't really want to dig deep into the plugin itself)

@blaqmatic nice to see you back online   did you make/making any new funk ?

as for Slate i feel too Von was more talking about his attitude/behavior more than the so called looks of a human being, but this is all about the plugins not him anyways

So some thoughts..... here he is at the namm show :

here is a vid of some of his racks from the lovey & humble guy Danny :

I have treied ssd3 and ssd4....imho his drum libraries are/is his weakest product.
This video didnt convince me at all.
There are many other companies that do it much better in this department and dont make a big deal out of it, yet his stuff is again "revolutionary" and "cutting edge".
He is a great salesman though.

Yeah, I'm not a fan of the Slate drums as well. Really average.

The thing that really gets me is that several weeks ago Slate published a drum mixing tutorial and it had the worst drum sound I've ever heard. I couldn't keep watching because the snare hurt my ears. The man still lives in the era of 2003 Buttrock.

Well aren't you a bucket of bad reading comprehension, assumptions, contradictions and hypocrisy.

"This post isn’t in the “funny” section. I don’t find anything funny about your post of the fat black woman either since you obviously aren’t black. I find that offensive."

Yes, I am in fact black and I do not care if you find the picture offensive. So much for your assumptions. I used it, not as means of comedy, but rather to show how ridicules one would look if you what you said played out IRL. Perhaps you actually do find it comedic, I don't care. It's irrelevant. Do you have a problem with fat people? Her weight and skin is also irrelevant. The laughter is what matters.

"Nothing is healthy about talking bad about someone."

I never said so. Try and quote me saying as much, you can't. Or is that another assumption?

"As well as I don’t see the point or usefulness of commenting on his looks which have absolutely Nothing to do with the sound of his drum library.

That's your opinion, one you're sharing here and I don't have a problem with. Speaking of sticking to the topic. The topic is threefold, all of which you're engaged in, one of which you started, that is: what, in your opinion, is wrong with the world. You were saying about staying on topic?

"That’s what’s wrong with society right now. No kind words, just comments from the peanut gallery. "

Another opinion, IMO it's your attitude and intolerance of opinions from the peanut gallery you don't like. The OP gets to decide what his or her opinions are, not you. It's not your thread. OP's choice is clear, it's both the library and his looks. (though I'm incline to think the library is the main topic :bleh:) You're the one bitching about it about, adding to the topic OP set. I just responded to you and gave my opinion on the library, never commenting on anyone's looks in particular for the record.

And no, I'm not wrong about judging people, you do it, I do it, everyone does it period. You're doing it right now in judging me, you did it when you judged OP and the world at large.

Protip: your discernment and so called "constructive criticism" sucks.

    Assumptive hypocrite.

So how about that SS drum library? Sucks huh?

Good afternoon. @mrpsanter..Let’s just assume your assumption is right. Then still what he stated was negative and hurtful. But if you read again what he stated and how he stated it, I believe you will see he meant it. Better yet ask him. He didn’t care when he said those words. Like most that bash that dude it was the way he talked, then the clothes he wore, now the way he looks. I’m just saying the world needs a lot more caring and understanding. Not hateful speech. I do tire of it! And again this topic was about the SSD5 I thought. My bad.

@spyfx...hey bro, I’m good! Not much funk lately but every song I produce has a little of that element. Doing some Chris Brown kinda tracks right now. I’m forced to, lol. But it pays the bills. Glad to see your still motivated and moving forward.

@freefeet12 ... Since I tend to ignore foolish people that like to talk consider this the last time I address you period! A) you are not Black! B) stop trying to prove yourself right when you miss my point and continue to blab about you missing the pure point I made. C) please grow up! Life is really to short for your :bleh::excl::rofl: !

    Live long and prosper.
