Hello guys

i understand Acustica Audio now protects their products with a kind of licensing application called "Aquarius". What's the issue about not cracking it? Currently all protections besides hardcore SyncroSoft Dongles (Cubase, Nuendo) have been broken.
Seriously, it raises the question to me if R2R cut a deal with Acustica Audio or similar not to release any of their new products? If i'm not mistakin R2R did some AA plugins back in 2013....

 

Even if they did, who cares? You can allways buy a plugin if you really want it. You even should allways buy what you really use. If you cant afford it, there are more than enough plugins that can substitute a AA pluging.

How do their copy protection works?

I read about a NFO that R2R released awhile ago about them beig unable to crack stuff from AA, Steinberg and others, where they gave specific technical info about the whys, but I can't find it

I know about the encrypted vectors and AUT file, which uses some kind of HWID reckon, but I want to know the technicals

 

They are very a very friendly company. Contact Giancarlo and ask him the technical details of how his copy protection works. Don't make it too obvious you're looking for hints as to how it could be cracked, so don't say anything like "ummmmm, hey man, if, let's say a friend of mine wanted to crack your software, y'know, like how would he do it?..... theoretically speaking"
