Just think it sounds awesome if they manage to implant it into current workflow of their DAWs etc..

    Very exciting..

Reading "exiting news" in the title, I was expecting an announcement of going out of business or something similar...

I'd prefer the ABC Song. It would seem more productive.

You call that exciting? How about fixing the bugs of Cubase, shortening the loading time, reducing plugins requirements, making the program easier and lighter etc.
    Now, that would be exciting!

Can I just take a moment to appreciate Avid's dedication to shilling shit to their customers at every possible opportunity? If I were a Pro Tools user, seeing the "Avid Marketplace" item every time I open my plugin menu would annoy the fuck out of me. I hate seeing advertisements within products that I paid for. Like dude, fuck off.

Well, not really the same thing that they are talking about.. part of it yes but its more integrated than just a plugin.. as far as i understand anyway..

And regarding the other comments about loading times etc.. come on guys, it no diffrence what so ever between the daws im using.. even if 9.5 loads a little slower than 9 at this time. But comparing it with S1 or Live, there aint not much of a diffrence. Not even when it comes to bugs and bla bla bla.. There are reason for it.. but okej.. we can go down this route once again with my car is better than yours or comparing d**ks but there are both better forums for that and probarly been done more than enough or??

These DAWs have it Built in since AT LEAST a year ago. Steinberg's doing a "me too" approach. Nuendo had Atmos support a year? after Pro Tools btw.

BTW, i've been mixing in 11.1+ in REAPER since 2016. The tools aren't built in, but it supports up to 64ch, and some 3d pty addons are taking advantage of that to do 7oambisonics.

BTW, how many speakers do you have connected to your PC? I have at least 4.

Ohh my god.. well, next time if there is something i think people may have missed out on i will for sure keep my mouth shut.. To many have to little to do, other then to throw shit on either people or software.. no wonder the world looks like it does.. change your view on things and people and im sure you will all feel alot better.. atleast try not to be so angry on trivial things.. SO.. price all DAW's.. we can actaully make music in them..

That's not a problem. The problem is how you PHRASED it.

    This is OK.

This is PROBLEMATIC, because there are other DAWs that CAN do this, and you didn't bother doing the research to find the other ones. You COULD've said "I wonder if other DAWs can do this"

It's not really a DAW. It's a SDK, just like Fmod, Unity, etc. The only DAW-like thing in there, is... Reaper, using the Resonance VST. Unless you plan on using a IDE or writing your own app for each music project.

WAVES NX is mostly irrelvant since 5.1 isn't ambisonics, and isn't for speakers either. NX does have an ambi ver., but it's not for content creation, so still mostly irrelevant.

But Avid DID implement ambisonics for PT. I was impressed with how quickly they did it, too. I'm not universally praising AVID, but just that aspect.
