Hello to everybody here,

I have been using with great success Kontakt Portable 5.7 but noticed that in the latest versions the main Kontakt interface logo name has been changed to 'KONTAKT Portable' and I am wondering if there is a way to just have the standard 'KONTAKT' logo like when using a fully installed version of the program.

Probably it requires to edit some scripting in order to change this but I am not familiar and would really welcome any suggestion whether what I am describing above is possible to do.

Never tried, maybe something like this (resource hacker=>Kontact5.vst=>PICTURE=>304)?

I have opened the Kontakt Portable .exe file but can not figure out how to edit the actual text like you did... Do you mind filling me in with how you managed to open the second window to edit the text.

That would change the logo in freestanding version (thing you open outside of a DAW), AFAIK. If you want to change the logo in Kontakt VST, you should edit Kontakt 5.vst (it's in the same directory as Kontakt 5.EXE). So in Resource Hacker, go to File=>Open; select "All files" ( ) to open Kontakt 5.vst.
you should now see this
:
on the left hand side; click on "PICTURE," scroll down to "304" & click on it. Should see this (that's already modified, yours will say "portable"):

Click Actions=>Save *.png resource.
Open the .png in Photoshop/Gimp/MSpaint/some picture editor; edit .png (it's a transparent .png, make sure to save transparency when you save).
Click Actions=>Replace Resource, replace with new .png.
Click File=>Save to commit changes.
You're done.

Along with the modified file, a backup file will be automatically created (Kontakt 5_original.vst), but probably still a good idea to save a copy of the original Kontakt 5.vst before you start, just in case.

Thank you so so much for your kind explanation on how to change the Kontakt logo. It work really great!

Hope you don't mind, I just have a very quick question about the editing process of the image in Photoshop. I have used the 'eraser tool' to get rid of the portion of text I wanted to remove... what tool is best to use when instead I want to modify the existing text like you did to show me the various steps inside Resource Hacker? I am not an expert by any means in the use of Photoshop.

I'm not an expert either. Photoshop has a text tool (click T on the tool panel (1), chose font (2) & size & color(3); type).

If you need details, YouTube has tons of shopping tutorials, just open YT & type something like:

If you just want the default logo, use this .

I have recently downloaded Kontakt Portable 6.1.1... In the past I was able to modify the logo from Kontakt Portable to Kontakt by following the above mentioned instructions given by Blorg, unfortunately this is no longer working. From the attached picture you can see that the file I have modifies with the help of the Resource Hacker app is the Kontakt.vstplugin. I am wondering if there is another file that needs to be modified in order to change the logo.
