Fireface UCX user here. I'm using it connected via USB, so it's just like the UC.
Can't say a bad word about it. Very stable, efficient drivers, very good audio quality, and the Totalmix is a top-notch tool.

    Same here.
I love it! The perfect soundcard with enough inpouts/outputs.
I have it since 5 years.

However I had before the UCX a RME Babyface and it was total crap, not reliable. It was out of order a first time 2 months after I bought it;RME after sales service repaired it but 15 days later it was out of order again.
Then RME sent me a new Babyface and so I have sell it.
    Therefore never buy a Babyface!

    Sorry.
I have the stock remote control and it's really handy ! Now I would not be able to do without it.

And another one happilly using the UCX via USB........started of using Firewire but after trying the USB connection for a couple of years I decided to keep it that way.

No problems at all to date.

They only thing I would say is that it does run quite warm so keep it away from additional heat sources........I put 4 rubber feet on mine to lift it off the desk a little (1cm) and help air flow.

    Exactly.
A friend has a Fireface 800 and it warms a lot too!
It's such a radiator for the room during the winter...
