    Pink 2

    [IMG]

    Today Acustica is pleased to present to you PINK2 – a logical evolution towards a better and fully mature version of its predecessor.

    This update brings much more than just a simple GUI restyling: it’s a real technological leap that leads to an incomparable sound quality within the Aqua series. PINK2 is the first of Acustica plug-in based on CORE 12, a significant upgrade featuring new important features affecting both the performance and sonic quality of our products.

    PINK2 is a bundle consisting of 6 different plug-ins:

    • PINK2 215 - Preamp module with 8 different circuit distortion models
    • PINK2 780 - 10 band graphic EQ
    • PINK2 1650 - 4 band EQ module with 4 selectable per band models
    • PINK2 2412 - Single band compressor
    PINK2 7236 - Multiband compressor
    PINK2 Channel Strip - Full channel strip with EQ, compressors and preamp options

    Core 12 represents a new technological advancement by Acustica:

    • Upgraded SASM (Symmetric & Asymmetric Saturation Modeling) high performance saturation algorithm;
    • Introduction of a new post-production sample de-noising tech for cleaner deconvolved impulses called STT (Super transient technology);
    • Full compatibility with Client/Server architecture integrated by default in Acqua plugins;
    • Engine optimization introducing a new highly efficient algorithm. This innovative technique is applied to all the deconvolved impulses for further de-noise processing and subsequent elimination of any incorrect low-level behavior (including the so-called "echo bug").

    Core 12 allows performance improvements for each plug-in of the Acqua Effects series, while at the same time preserving all the features already supported in previous CORE upgrades.

    Wow ! Spectacular, nay, awesome ! I have Pink 1 and the compressor bundle so this one is probably a free upgrade for me (just checked on aquarius and it's confirmed, I'm donwloading the new bundle as I'm writting this), the addition of the preamp and eq as separated units is awesome, as well as the use of core 12 for the upgrade.
    I never overused or even used that much pink so far, it will be the opportunity to go api a bit more, and test the whole thing a bit further.

    Thanks for the information @thantrax .

    I'll give feedback once I've tested the whole thing a bit.

    Yup, I upgraded a few days ago too and I love it so far, they even improved the mouse scroll-wheel control, it’s more smoother and just perfect for me now. Sound-wise it just kicks ass, thick and big sounding. The compressor is ridiculously punchy, like it would turn plastic drums into titanium ones, it can really slam. I used to use the original Pink quite often, now it’s a must on the drums. On my Eve SC307 speakers I can tell the tone of Pink2 has more “movement”, depth and life than the original Pink, even tho Pink1 was already lively and 3D enough, but with this one I can sense that the depth is improved and it sounds a bit more “organic”. Still I don’t know which algo plug would ever get this close to those Acustica plugs.

    Advice for anyone,
    If you need to go for an Acustica buy-and-forget investment “from scratch”, I’d suggest 6 plugs for a complete ITB humble arsenal:

    -Lime(Neve ChannelStrip with amazing bus comp)
    -Coral (SPL based mastering suite in one interface)
    -Pink2 (Api channelstrip)
    -Honey (Harrison EQ, underrated but one of my favourites that I can’t live without)
    -Emerald (UE1000 based mastering EQ, lovely)
    -Crimson (Saturation, Comp & Distortion by Vertigo VSC & VSM)

    I wish Gold had a multiband comp. Might have to give this one a spin.

    It sounds Majestic.

    Did someone compared the Eq with the new Overloud 550? It's currently free until 18 March
