You know it's weird, every once in a while I demo something, think "this is awesome!", and then totally forget about it. That's what happened with E27 for me. Thanks for the reminder!

 

Tunca releases a free Neumann U 87 emulation plugin. Supposedly works great with a Shure SM57 or SM58 mic, i guess you could try it out with any mic.

Just tried the U87 emulation plugin on a Baby Taylor with three Radio Shack piezos direct. Adds a nice fatness to the sound.

I happened to record this solo for a great collaboration with a Baby Taylor with old ass strings. Unfortunately no before/after with the VST but sounds good to me.

just trying out some of their freebies. easy to use and sound good.
if i weren't so damn broke (bloody mandatory car insurance in the uk) i could be tempted by some of the others. only $29 each is very reasonable.
i can think of more than a few other companies that could learn from such a pricing strategy.

Its a one guy company. He is good. Some of the compressors are somewhat buggy and have incorrect metering but EQs are very good.

 

Diamonds are a girl's best plugin.

 

I have all the right parts so I'm looking forward. This one sounds like Chinese medicine a bit to me but should be fun.

 

I tried the Besure N-87 with my Gefell umt70S and it made the mic sound like...broken. Then the Gefell m930, then my RE-20, same thing. I guess that I need a 57 or trash the plugin.

 

That VST adds alot of low end. I tried it with my transformerless 57 with great results on electric guitar.

 

Yup, best bet I guess would be using it with a microphone most unlike a Neuman U87 mic, and most probably a dynamic like a transformerless 57. The Elecro-Voice has a transformer and already a predisposition for a robust capture of the low end.

i bet--- i record stems, simple melodies maybe 6 pieces, and if the "analog" fraction is listening to it cant say which of these is analOG and which not analOG for me just means senseless routing ways from 1992
