No, i didn't register for this thread. My first posts on this forum were on another thread.
No, i don't dismiss people that have problems.
    LatencyMon is not 100% accurate.
No, i didn't call out a person trying to help, i called out a person throwing misinformation around.
No, i'm not trolling for calling you out. You are trolling.
If i knew that you would behave like a 12 year old, i wouldn't have made comments in your precious thread, my apologies.

You still don't get it. DPC latency rarely plays a part in your ASIO driver latency, it's a ridiculous metric/thing to worry about. We're talking about μs here, on a single core. Not ms, what audio latency is usually measured in. You simply don't understand how this works.
    Not even 1% accurate :(
But that's not the point. The numbers reported by the app are not audio latency -- the only useful number the app reports is "Highest execution (ms)":
This is the longest time a driver monopolized *a single core* of your CPU, during the entire test (in pic above, netbt.sys spent .35ms).
This is about the time it takes sound to travel ~5" (FIVE INCHES) of room-temp air.
But even that isn't added directly to audio latency -- modern CPUs have more than one core.

Dude, call it like you want. If disabling the audio Nvidia driver makes you go from cracklefest to smooth sailing, that's just NOT latency. It's a garbage driver. Specially if its counterpart from other manufacturer doesn't do it. Call it latency, call it however you like. I even explained this to you in post #63.

I'm tired of explaining the same thing over and over again so this is my last post in this thread. If you find the information on the first post useful and want to give it a shot, wonderful. If not, wonderful as well. I did my part.

I had a 13 Toshiba satelaite, with 8 gigs of RAM I believe. It wouldn't even let me close waves complete 9 plugs because it required opengl2.1 and that particular intel graphic card stopped updating and only went up to opengl2.0..lol I could install and open the gui of the plug in my DAW, but closing the plugin's window crashed my daw, every time. I went to waves complete 7 and had zero problems.

found some ati cards for very small cases
all workstation cards, but they look pretty cool if you use solidorks or similar

Looks great, but do they offer a good OpenGL performance ? Some modern Synths such as VPS Avenger benefit from it as far as i know

I'm accepting invitations for a gaming session. :) Beer and pizza is on me. :) You bring the dope. :) I'm bringing my own Logitech gamepad.

That's a really good gaming card, man. Congrats! The fastest I've tried is GTX1060 so far, since I'm not assembling gaming PCs and I'm not a gamer at all, but I still think gaming is fun and I'm thinking of assembling a PC just for that with a hefty graphics card.

Does having two graphic cards make things worst?

    Greetings to all,

If you do not mind,I take this opportunity and your skills to have your opinion regarding the upgrade of a graphic card.

I have a Mac Pro early 2009 flashed to 5.1/ 2x 3,46 GHz/ 64 GB ram + 2 SSD Pcie with OSX High Sierra 10.13.3, I would to know which

graphic card would you advise me to handle two display monitor 43" (LG 43UD79-B) @4k (3840x2160) at 60Hz ?

I actually have an AMD 7970 HD , she' s too noisy and can't handle at the same time my two 43"

@4k 60Hz , she's slows down considerably my computer (excessive latency).

I would like to know which graphic card (used or not)which could work without problems (stable) with minimum latency and if it's possible

without drivers (native support) & Apple boot screen.

    Hoping to have offended anyone.

    Thanking you in advance !

    Kindest Regards.

i have the same workstation with a GTX 1060 on one hand and a Radeon 470 on the other. I'll try to make some tests this afternoon

Is ther any at all which offers a bootscreen ? I currently using a radeon rx580 nitro+ with my CustomMac, it works with the Apple Drivers.
Regarding Boot Screen I cant say anything due to using a Hackintosh :)

Ok i've run the latencymon on both machines under same conditions. same CPU, same SSD and of course network down with bg processes to a minimum, memory 64gb in one and 128 Gb in the other being the only difference

The workstation with the Nvidia was labelled UNABLE to run without dropouts and glitches.
The workstation with the AMD has no issues whatsoever.

Very interesting for me. Now i understand where my peaks came from.

Gonna switch my GPU boards right away.

To uninstall the GPU drivers use DDU(allow to boot into safe mode)
    http://www.guru3d.com/files-details/display-driver-uninstaller-download.html
and only install Nvidia drivers and nothing else, here how to

they like to fuck around these drivers

not that it has much to do with this thread but i will go with this card

    https://www.cyberport.de/amd-radeon...rafikkarte-2x-mini-dp-1x-dp-2E02-005_813.html

I think that the only thing you pay more for in a workstation card is that it wont fuck with your work software
    whether proprietary or open source

also this one fits in small cases, also it is shiny blue

now it just needs to do dsp and its golden

Yes, absolutely. Every kind of deep ahci energy saving is a killer for realtime performance. I'd say naturally, cause it needs time to 'see' that there is a performance demand and to wake the cores. I did a lot of research some years ago and everything beginning with c- in the bios made things worse so i disabled it. Other stuff like speedstep was ok and didnt influence the performance.

I haven't tried this yet but, as we know, CPUs all come with onboard GPUs now. We don't need much GPU action when doing audiowork at all. I'm wondering if switching to the onboard video for audio work if you have an NVidia card would be a viable option.

Could you simply switch inputs and disable the card in device manager? The drivers shouldn't need to act on the system in any way if the device is disabled and is there any negative impact on the overall performance using the onboard GPU?

If this could work this would be a very simple solution. Secondary cables to secondary inputs, switch sources on display(s) and switch device on the fly in the system (Intel graphics drivers).

It's not as convoluted as it sounds and it saves switching (expensive) gaming cards completely. I could guineapig this but I'm lazy. Thoughts?
