Why would you need a 3rd party program to edit a stupid text file that resides in Windows/System32/drivers/etc/hosts? You just go there, click on "hosts" file and edit it with Notepad. Simple.

Wertef? Just use Notepad. Or at very worst, just get Notepad++ as a Notepad replacement and use that for all your needs!

 

put that into your datei explorer path
Windows/System32/drivers/etc/hosts
pick notepad or editor as software to open it.

or simply execute the included .cmd as admin

 

So these days there are separate text editors for recipes, jokes, lyrics, stories, novels, books, science papers, notes, jotting stuff and whatnot?

You can use one editor to rule them all. Notepad. They all write letters in the same way, I can assure you. You only need one. And you don't need it to start up when you log into Windows, too. It is just as easy to double-click the shortcut on your desktop, as clicking in the systray. And you have one less background task to hinder the audio performance.
