No, there is no jury. This is not a commercial release. We only need to be all responsible and adult.
I will not reject a track because of taste question. Only for 3 reasons:
If instrument played are too obviously undertechnical. Like you cant throw your cat on the piano and send the track or you really have no clue how to play but you put your finger where ever and think " what ever, I'll send the track, this is jazz anyway, besides it's a home album" ...
Even having a choice to midi/audio edit, this is not acceptable.

Or this is obviously not jazz influenced. I.e a metal track ...

Or the mix is really really too bad, muddy (even it does not have to be perfect) and this can always be reworked.

But everything else is possible, I dont mind about copy paste techno jazz or if it's Funk Jazz or Acid Jazz, what ever, this is why we call this Jazz Influenced, it does not have be purist jazz.

Hello, I'd like to enter this album. I have my songs mastered in 44.1/16, could I use them to participate?

    Thank you!

I don't know what Oly might say, but original work made for the album is usually the main intent in these collaborative works.

    really?

not that i planned on it, but i wounld'nt be able to submit a jazz influenced metal song?
( in my mind metal is one of the few jazz influenced genres in popular culture right now

or do you mean like "old metal" (where its obvious no jazz influence?)

    Exactly

What I mean is that this album is very open.
Besides I see no point in discussing an hypothetical reject to a track while we are not there yet.
Let's do it, it's all positive.

Of course, send me your song please.

    Member "

GodHimSelf" is already mastering tracks, so it would be great to coordinate with him.

For me there is one goal only, get the album done, and to get things done, generally the simpler the better, so I try to keep things simple for anyone who wants to participate.

Even though it's better if the track have not been published before. (but it's not a requisite)

Hey OIy, I reuploaded my submission in losless wav here.
Quick question : as much as I love to play - once I've finished a composition - with a tons of tools provided by the "sister site" (compressors, exciters, imagers, limiters, reverbs delays, transients you name it), I'm not an audio engineer.
The track is complete when it sounds good to me and friends.

So, even though I feel the track is somewhat well balanced, do you think there's some extra mojo I should do on the master bus ? (any other feedback on that matter will be appreciated).

Imho the instruments in the track are already very "close" to each other, so IMHO dont touch anything.
But I'm not the specialist for this, so I've asked to godhimslef and spyfx to listen to your track and comment too.

for @BibouLeNoob track : i like it a lot  & thanks for participating
it has a really nice atmosphere
from the middle & after it somehow reminds me of Alexandre's Desplat Syriana Fathers & Sons, which is a very good thing.

Thanx @Olymoon and @spyfx for your feedbacks !

I've listened to the Syriana OST track you mentioned from Desplat, which in turn, made me think of a Satie's gnossienne :like:
Maybe something to do with the pace plus very scarce presence of tension/dominant chords, I don't know :)

Guys, on another topic, do you feel confident there'll be enough tracks delivered on deadline (even with oly's very loose specifications, which was the right thing to do, I wonder if AS is that much a jazz lover trove you know ? :))

Right now 5 tracks have been delivered.
So, given the number of persons that said they are in, I would say yes we will have enough tracks on time.

Guys, I have to go a little off topic, just to inform you that in Bass Guitar - January 2018 there is a text from Victor Wooten, that is far beyond bass and even beyond music. It's not long but it's very enlightening.

It's worth reading, quite uplifting. I'm not sure that music has made me more punctual, or more reliable (!) tho, but everything else I support wholeheartedly! Bravo! etcs. (It's more kinda: everyone who (thinks) they're alive, and doesn't play - should read this.)
