    Hi.
Could anyone tell me how to install the Artuira V Collection 6 on a different folder than the one suggested by the installer?
I changed the default installation folder when prompted to but after it installed I still found it on drive C anyway as opposed to drive D like I told it and wanted to.
    I run Windows 7.

    Thanks.

normally installer default is system c:

sometimes the installer spilt to folder 1 vst(I) and program folder with pdf and no preset lists.

normally you can change folder by installer... check if there is something programrelevant in the programfolder.

if there are pdf or just txt files you need for tagging you can simple copy&paste it to another location.

    but remember:

some of the vst need the installer path for their presets list.

i would first look inside the folder what the content is .. if you are not sure please take a screenshot for us here :)

I uninstalled it a short while after not finding a solution for it. I'll have to reinstall it again but that will take literally hours so I would like to be able to get it right on the first try. From what I can remember all the data, and I mean ALL of it not just a pdf or something, got installed on C, even though I created a folder on D and selected it for the install. I tried manually copying and pasting the data on D after the install but it didn't work. The VST's no longer loaded in the DAW. So that's my issue.

Just install shell extension software from http://download.microsoft.com/download/8/B/4/8B42259F-5D70-43F4-AC2E-4B208FD8D66A/vcredist_x64.EXE and http://schinagl.priv.at/nt/hardlinkshellext/HardLinkShellExt_X64.exe
then cut and paste the folder of arturia to new location. Then right click, pick link source, go back to originial arturia location, right click drop as simlink

You can also use mklink command:

    1. Create a folder where you want to have the arturia bundle stored. Lets say it is
    D:\Arturia\ProgramData
    2. Run a cmd with elevated rights and type:

    mklink /D "C:\ProgramData\Arturia" "D:\Arturia\ProgramData"

If C:\ProgramData\Arturia already exists, you need to delete it first (make sure to save all your presets before deleting), otherwise mklink can't do its job.
    3. Install

This sounds very confusing. If you have to delete C:\ProgramData\Arturia first then what would the mklink cmd move to D:\Arturia\ProgramData?

But it is really simple.
It does not move anything. It creates a symlink before the installation so that the installer does not notice the difference and everything gets saved directly to your prefered folder which is D:\Arturia... in my example.
You only need to copy-paste the command from above and replace the second link with the folder you made in the location of your choice..

So you do the mklink cmd before the installation and then direct the installer to the D folder instead of the C one?

Yup, right, you had uninstalled it, so I wrote the steps that way. :winker:
The advantage in using mklink before is, you don't need to copy all the files after the install, so it even saves a bit time.

C:\ProgramData\Arturia is the folder where the installer saves everything. I think you can't change the location during the install. But mklink does the trick.

Yes, it's not installed now. Thanks. I'll try all these options when I have a few hours to spare. Last time I installed the collection it took over 90 minutes, crazy.
    Cheers.

It worked! I didn't know you could do such things! This will save some space in the main drive. Thank you!
