so, can someone please tell me, why do i not get the link controller visible when i start up studio one?? i have looked and looked and found no answer yet..
    thanks if you can help

ps. just to be clear. i get the top left black box showing the hand icon and the 'A' to drag and drop automation, but i do not see the box to the right which shows the controller currently being tweaked.
    hope that makes sense

Oh man, automation is my main issue with studio one. When I record automation in real time it totally butchers all my moves by deleting like a million breakpoints in between and making it a straight line. God damn, how could they not address that all this time? And it seems like they are not going to. It takes probably less than a day to fix that or add an option so why the hell not?
And buses jumping all over the place is also not cool but I can live with that.

The plugin browser is rubbish. It takes into account dashes and spaces.
And after some short typing it freezes and you start messing with the session tracks.

The roll down changes values is crap also.

lol, overall i find it a great DAW but after all these years, some of these bugs are still there, the browser improoved by just a tiny bit but yeah ...there is more rush for the versions than rush for solving problems ...sometimes i find myself using Ableton or FL for a change, winch i would buy but way overpriced ...FL its on my buy list for the future!

I love it, but the weird track/channel relationship and having to remap my midi controllers when I replace instruments.

I loove S1 ..used Live/S1 50/50, now S1 being more suited for the music I make. But is a love-hate relationship.
There are annoying things that I can live with but the TEMPO MAP/AUTOMATION ..I don't get it!! I don't care if it can be divided in 1024 steps.. but why steps?! Imagine a classical music piece with accelerandi, decelerandi on a phrase (or multiple phrases!) and ritardandos. We are not living in early baroque, when tempo changed and remained the same for a period of time. And it surely doesn't have to be classical music - anything from a live performance to Lil Louis - French Kiss. (I know is kinda doable..)

I want the tempo to be (exactly) 180 at the beginning and linearly descending to 60 in time span of 30 min. Can I do that without a terrible PITA??

Go to Options -> Advanced -> Automation and set Reduction level to 0% .

    You're welcome.

There isn't any Reduction level option in mine. I have 3.5.1. Did they fix it in 3.5.4? That would be awesome.
Edit: Yes they've added it at 3.5.3. Thanks for the heads up! Great news for me.

    @sir jack spratsky
Dear Sir, if you prove me wrong I will be forever grateful(!), but just let me be absolutely clear about what I want:

    - the tempo has to be precise (like 180.00) and the transitions seamless for example:
    - at exactly the bar 5 I want the tempo to be exactly 180.00
    - at the bar 53, I want the tempo to be exactly 60.00
    - then I change my mind and want to change the tempo at the bar 53 to 100.00, without changing the 180.00 at the bar 5

I did not read the Ableton manual (sorry, these things should be intuitive..), don't use Live much - but I was able to make a GIF in few minutes that does what I want:

Ableton wizards will probably laugh, because there is simpler way of doing this.. but I did it in no time, I know that the tempi are all precise and the transitions from fixed tempo 180.00 to decelerando and back to fixed tempo are seamless (and I can adjust anything at any time). I know how to draw tempo map in S1! But that is far from precise and seamless..

Now, you obviously know much more than me. I read a lot about this and watched many videos. I know all about macros that deal with tempo map in S1. But I'm still stuck. So please, teach me, how to do something like this. You will be a hero, because you will not only save me but other hundreds registered users on Presonus forum, that requested that tempo map should be node-curve based like other automation - you can read about it here:
Feature Request for Tempo Automation to function the same as Track Automations

    Thank you in advance!

I don't like that there's no native pan law options.
