People who actually produce hip hop don't feel offended, this is my first try.
I'm pretty sure this isn't even proper hip hop, but it's the closest term I could find to describe it. Any idea on the style, please do let me know I'll change the title and the tags.
Instrumental version has the single rap line only two times, other than that it's identical to the Original. The Trip mix is a bit different: 98 bpm instead of originals 104, a couple more synths, more ambiance I guess.
First time using real drum samples... not easy

I hope you enjoy as much as I enjoyed making them.

I'm really digging it, pretty cool stuff. The style is "Fatboy slim making sweet love to Dj Shadow".
It can use some mastering though. Or maybe a mix with that in mind, the track is not in a bad shape at all.
I really like everything about the track except maybe the guitar riff has some slight timing issues (feels a bit rushed sometimes) and sounding too much like that Butterfly riff. But whatever, you haven't asked for my critique. Solid stuff m8!

Reminds me a bit of this one, due to the guitar licks

Good stuff, sounds professional, like the natural instrumentation (bass, drums)

Thanks all for taking the time to listen,
yes I was a bit obsessed with Butterfly after the radio passed it more than a week ago, that's why the riff sounds a bit similar. I wanted to change it once I noticed that, but everything I did seemed out of place at that point :(
Interesting to hear what other people compare the track to, thank you very much

Hi Bill, I'm sorry but did you mean the track is very badly mixed, or it's at a good starting point? It was the first time mixing this kind of instrumentation so I'd like to know a little bit more, just in case in future I'd come back to do something similar.
For "mastering", since I do this for hobby, I usually use Ozone and try to tweak as little as possible since I don't have the ears, the skills or the right equipment to do anything. Then use a limiter.

Cheers and have a good weekend

No, what i meant was that the mix is good but it can use a fair amount of good master bus compression. And you can do that at mastering but I personally prefer to do that during the mixing process. I think that would really help the track. It will bring it all together and will make it groove more.
