OK So until now we are 26 on this
It's time to setup the framework.

    I suggest that
    - we get open about what means Jazz Influenced, so it can go from electro jazz to smooth jazz, funk jazz , jazz standard etc... Even Swing and Foxtrot so Andrew can be in : )

    - Apart of this we have to set a reasonable timing. What about 2 month ?

2 months is a lot of tinkering time but yes i am good with your suggestion.

i will try to resist the constant temptation to make mine worse than when it started :)

Agreed. Two months is fine, and anything jazzy should be allowed. :)

Two months sounds good. I'll try a jazzy blues piece.

from by-the-book classic jazz all genres ( big band, vocal.. ) to electro / fusion ... as long as it includes elements ( chords progression, ryhtms, instruments & scales ) mixed with other styles, no ?
    ( that's how I see it )

it's too much if you ask me.
    1 month should be enough.

    I think there's 2 possibilities (which doesn't mean we can't have both) :
    - either you make an audiosex album, all genres by respective members,
    - or you make genre-oriented albums, then people should be able to work quick and deliver quality content.

I take as long as I want to work on my stuff, I've had something like 40 tracks I'm working on when I want to.

but as musician, in a professional context, we also should be able to deliver quickly. so, for 1 tune per member, 1 month of work should be enough.

it would allow also several albums per year, which could be good and keep the energy flow "alive" :)

On a second thought, I guess a month should be enough. Maybe it's time to make publishing albums a thing of this site on the regular. The mods are getting the hang of it by now. We could have a pre-established set of procedures and a schedule for genre publishings all year round, say, every quarter or so. That way, people who cannot be bound by a month or two period could project ahead and the ready for the Album of the Quarter on the genre they could contribute well.

Also fine with one month here, I have some unfinished stuff with occasional jazz pretensions. May need help with mastering, which I’m cloth-eared at.

By the way, how are we supposed to deliver our tracks? I mean, file type, bit rate, resolution, etc...

And, Is anyone going to master everything (to make it sound like a connected album) or should should we master our own tracks?

    Cheers,

    R.
