Its hard not to smile reading this kind of threads, even if i rarely manage to read more than the first page.. We are all diffrent people. Our experience with computer and how we started out is also diffrent. There are good things on any kind of platform, just as it is bad ones. The security of Apple i just so good, no matter if its phones or computers. But its also one of its downfall. PC with its flexibility, if you know what you do.. and then Linux with its total control (even more if you know what you do)..

My point is that use what works for you. If you can buy what you use.. And im pretty sure that you will create more and better music once you know your platform, know your plugins and not chase the latest release on the sister site all the time. Even if PC is flooded with great releases its very rare that its actually something really new that is released.

Im a PC user when it comes to creating music. With graphic works its MAC.. Just because thats how i started out. I could very easy switch to just one platform but it would still be hell to port it. I may be lucky cause i own the plugins i use today and they are mostly cross plattform so i can use it on any plattform i choose. But as said, i choose this cause it WORKS FOR ME and after many years getting the latest ones ive learnt that sticking to one thing and get to know it more deeply is the way to get and be more creative. The latest release of this or that rarely does.

And who knows, some of us may actually be happy to not see posts like "Omnisphere dont work.. HELP PLEASE", cause people dont even take the time to learn their plattform before tehy start to chase that new shiny software bundle etc..

Well just my reflection.. hopefully i havnt offended anyone and happy new year everyone..

Now i go back to sister site and get me some good stuff lol..

That would be nice indeed. But it's too unstable, yet.

"I have to spend $400 to buy a computer so I can use $10,000 worth of free software that I don't even at all need to make good music. The injustice of it all! #triggered"

What planet are people living on where they think music can't be made in 2018 on even an "Acer cheap ass laptop"? That Acer laptop is at least 10 times more powerful than pro-rigs of yesteryear, and plenty of great albums have been and are continuously made on less than stellar equipment.

This notion that you need at least an octa-core with 32GB of RAM to be a "big boy" is absurd. Unless you're Mr. Hans Zimmer then I have to laugh at anyone thinking audio requires significant digital horsepower at all. Video, yes. Audio, no.

true to a certain extent, one thing you have to understand is that back in the day 99% of all processing was done with external gear and not plugs, The computer just recorded the audio. I used to be able to record a whole entire Gospel choir live on an old PC or Mac all day ,every day. so your point of what is around today computer wise ,although valid not really a thing when it comes down to it all. I will take my shitty old Pro tools system and my external gear and run circles around what is around today. Tools are just that!! Tools! It's the end user that makes things happen Mac or PC...humpf, all the same, I am way too busy looking at the DAW, who cares about the O.S. as long as the DAW is up to par. No one goes around and complains that they CAN"T do something with the same DAW on a MAC vs. a PC. A DAW is a DAW , besides a few keyboard short cuts, why even care??. This is the problem with bedroom producers who have never had to work with different computers and within a different environment, Screw what computer is better, I only worry about which mic is better and how I am getting paid. This whole Mac vs PC is so stupid and childish Not trying to offend anyone but c'mon... use what you have ,make the best of it.It's the DAW not the computer and like computers it's a personal choice

HEX was ran off by all the whiny MAC users that kept asking for stuff instead of appreciating what he provided, Blame yourselves if you're a MAC users. Seems to me you MAC owners bitch and moan about what you DON'T have than what you do have. If you had not spent so much on a computer maybe you could afford software

Nevermind, you obviously didn't get the point of my reply. Using one quote out of context isn't fair. Hey ho

Have you used several Kontakt drum and symphony libraries on one project? Unless you have a good machine it ain't happening. Many of these wouldn't even load on a "yesteryear" gear.

Anyway, I don't care what anyone else uses... what you are making... or if it costs £10000000. People jumping onto a thread insulting a user group because of their chosen purchase is out of order. And I have an Acer laptop

So why throw out an insult about Acer laptops as if trying to invalidate PCs as musical tools? In one breath you're saying it matters, and then in the next saying it doesn't.

I mean, obviously, more expensive/modern equipment is going to be more powerful. That's a given. But whining about computing hardware/platform/software in 2018 is mostly just a crutch and an excuse unless you have very specific requirements. I mean, bounce some Kontakt instruments down if it's really an issue. Or be creative and use something else less CPU/RAM heavy. Go download some Gigasampler or E-mu ESC libraries from 2002 or something, you know? Just make it happen.

People act as if there are these great barriers to entry and they'll never be able to make quality music unless they're rich and have the latest and greatest, and that's just self-limiting nonsense. There's barely such thing as "low end" these days.

Yeah, buy a PC. Get an 8700k and overclock it a bit. Use Win 10 ENTERPRISE LTSB N. You'll have zero problems, AND you can connect both computers with COPPERLAN.

That is the problem, anybody with a few hundred bucks can buy a computer ,download some software and make noise and pretend it's music, back in my day we had to go to school, spend thousands upon thousands Just to go home and eat peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. We did not care about computers, We(I) cared about getting by. This whole Apple vs. PC has nothing to do with a damn thing in the real world, every Studio is different and every studio has different computers. Deal with it or choose another career path. All this MAC vs PC stuff is only for those that never worked a damn day in Audio
