90 % of our members are really good persons and constructive ones, including you Phloopy, Some can have a difficult moment and go crazy, but that's only temporary, so helping this place (and the other one) to keep flowing, even if not always easy, is very rewarding.

Lambchop.. I butt heads with him in a thread here before. His problem is he doesn't know how to argue his point of view without throwing derogatory nonsense into the equation. But there's one token he has, which I also have, and few others have.. he's not a kiss-ass. The thing is, you have to have enough integrity to not be a kiss-ass and give your honest opinion/criticism while using "respectful" words at the same time. That's what Lambchop hasn't shown he's able to do, and so people rightfully throw his insults back at him.

On the note of kissing ass though, the members who engage in the facebook friends style.. "Like me and I'll like you back".. "Play kiss-ass with me and I'll remember to do the same towards you" type of business establishes an untrue level of integrity. Those caught up in that circle of trading likes and compliments back and forth in the form of return favors might as well stay in that social lane and never ask things like "How do you like my song?". Because you'll never receive faithful criticism from those you play kiss-ass with.

A side effect of the internet is that opinions are often given the same status as facts. As an example, opinion once was that Yoko Ono broke up the Beatles. However, we now know that the band was fragmenting before John met Yoko.
I would suggest that instead of promoting ones "opinions" one should express their "views"
By the very nature of the word, views, suggest an outward looking observation, while opinions quickly become a self confirming feedback loop of self regulated accuracy. So, in answer to the threads title, I would say 'no' you do not simply have the right to express your opinion if you cannot back it up with evidence or facts.
It is not sufficient to say "in my opinion Reaper sucks" However if you said "my view of Reaper is that it's workflow does not match my workflow preferences"
