Well there it is. Shit for Macs yet again and everything for Windows. Pretty frustrated. I’m glad R2R releases all the goodies, but it’s a bitch in that I have to buy another desktop.... Happy New Year fellas. Off to Newegg I go.

Beside the thing you've said, when was last time MacPro came out? Hackintosh might be our messy alternative, but...You're right. Time to switch!

i switched also,i love the way mac looked and how easy it was to install things.PC is so much cheaper and you can get better performance at half the price of mac.also you can add things to pc to make it better not so much with mac, again mac stuff cost alot of cash.I was a doughter but i have since changed my mind and learned to love the pc

I don't understand Mac Users at all. You spend triple a price from a fast PC into your Mac and cry if you can't get a Gift from Pirate Groups ? If you can't afford to get it legit, why you spend your money in a Mac ? I would never buy a Porsche and steal the Gasoline to keep it running. Just my thoughts...

It"s not the Mac I buy, it's the OS and it's simplicity of configuration when it comes to audio and/or video.

I'm ready to get to work basically 2 hours after unpacking a Mac. Can you honestly do the same on your PC?

Also buying a Mac means a lot of sacrifices, therefore living not much dough for software.

I hope my explanation was clear.

    Peace.

In 2 hours i can build a pc from the parts, install windows 10, install reaper and ilok and my favorite plugins with still time enough to have a coffee and a bacon sarnie. :)

I will own up to having built about 300 pc's before so i do know what to do.

But windows now is just plug and play rather than plug and pray as it used to be. :)

You don't need a Hackintosh. You can have a fully working windows 10 installation on any mac via bootcamp. Do it. Try it. I did it half a year ago. My main point was testing FL Studio. It was a horror trip.If you're used to a mac, Windows is just plain horror. Every 2nd start of the operating system..wait....update. Virus Scanners required. Theirs nothing to be done about that with some releases of pirated software. At any rate not the releases released by R2R within the last 2 hours and afair for example the Arturia v.6 edition for mac was released 3 weeks before R2R did their gracious Happy New Year release.

I bought an i7 4930k on ebay for 300€. put 64GB of Ram n it for 200€ more. bough 2 SSD Samsung pro (512gb) for 250€.
    Runs 24/7 without a glitch.
Now, what can a 3000€ Mac can do better for me? Simplicity? You'd be wrong.

Like kptainfilou it's not the hardware on Mac... the "magic" happens in the OS. With a low range on hardware, Apple is able to perfect the connection between hardware and software. Just imagine: Microsoft would code you a personal Windows based on your PC hardware specs... so you don't even have to install system drivers and additional drivers! And this is how it works on Apple hardware.
Those pricing arguments are sooo 1999! I recently built a PC for a customer. He wanted the best and his PC was at 2.500 USD
(I was a PC user for over 20 years.)

Btw. audio producers who work with an AMD deserve a clean headshot!
