Had some help from Mr. @Satai on the mastering. Let the record reflect he still was not fully satisfied with the master when I last talked to him in PMs, but I think it sounds great.

My attempted master below. If I could impose on you guys to have another listen and tell me where I'm going right/wrong I'd be very grateful. I'm still quite new to mastering and my ear is pretty hit or miss. Thanks yall

    Who did the Mixing?

feels light, more meat is needed, it also sounds very mono to me and i believe if you space/widen out the instruments more your voice would pop in the middle

    Feel the vibe thou

  9. Another fine-tastic offering, I like it lots.

Though as Introninja said, it could use more weight and impact. There for me is this disconnect between your in your face delivery, the great poetry that you craft and how it sonically is delivered. I always visualize Mike Tyson having some scared to death, poor unfortunate foolish guy up against a wall, popping him HARD, whack whack whack in the face with his naked fist every time he asks the dude, "You said what about my woman"? I'm just not getting that in the mix.

    Respectively Yours...

Definitely improving on all fronts, its very good. Some mud in the lower mids that is distracting the vocals to cut trough.

I like it. Would have made a few different choices here and there and clamped down on the high-frequencies a bit more but artistic differences aside. Good work from the both of you.

God damn. Lots of responses already. Thank you all for being so supportive. @BudSpencer yeah that's me on the first verse and the first part of the hook. The 2nd and 3rd are my brother.

Criticisms on the low end duly noted.

it's good, it's big. sounds good at mid volume levels but breaks up at high volume. the crawler arp is too present in the midrange; too much competition with your vox; seriously, try killing all mids on the arp. Nice work guys!

The creative decisions.. vocal fx, track sequence, and overall color is good. Problem is it's not dynamic enough from the floor to the ceiling. The compression has it in a choke-hold shaking the shit out of it.. it's noticeably forced.

Its very tough self producing. Being a musician/song writer is one thing, mixing and mastering again, others hear things you dont, hence even great song writers/ engineers hire someone else many times.
Them brothers did a damn good job, paying for mix/mastering could take them to pro level, they are ready.

    Love the Analogy

They can also get great support & ideas to help them better their sound or hook up with mixers/masters here like yourself. Hint hint

You guys have no idea, we're all lucky I was there for him in these dark times and talked @Cav Emp into rendering it in stereo at all.

Was tons of fun working on it with CavEmp. Happy New Year and heartfelt thanks to everyone who lent an ear and their opinion on the sound, I'm going to take it all on board for the next projects.

I took a crack at mastering it myself with some help from Ozone 8 and a bit of RBass and Satin to push the low end up a bit. I'd appreciate if I could get some opinions on it to help me figure out whether I'm headed in the right direction. I'll edit this into the main post as well for visibility.

Also @Introninja - I bother @Von_Steyr plenty as it is. Every time I forget what the red circle does in Cubase I send him a PM so he can refresh me that, yes, that's the button you press when you want the DAW to hear you talk. Guy's a lifesaver tbh
